ABV Experiences

Okay so I made a load of cookies, ate some today and spent it asleep. My AVB isn’t fit for purpose. The home baking experiment ends with the conclusion that AVB belongs in the bin.

Did just make peanut butter brownies, but it’s the last time. Opening Frolic over sinks etc from now on. Tired of a spray of dirt.

Yeah, coming from a sacrament vibe but I also understand scarcity in the past as mentioned here. Keep in mind I low temp and stuff is light beige. I know for a fact I leave a healthy % behind. Use the Water wash method with a large coffee press doing small batches. Lazy so just capsulize after a fine grind. Definitely interested in making butter down the road. Used for sedation at nighttime (sleep help) sometimes when the insomnia is kicking - or like when others mentioned the good gummies run out. Once I fell for the pnut butter sammie trick. Yuck.

I read this on Reddit: “ABV in general will make you sleepy due to all the CBN that’s been converted from thc/cbd.”

Seems to make sense. I sometimes eat AVB cookies (water washed, then use a sous vide to infuse the butter, then the recipe on the back of the chocolate chips) at night, maybe a hour before bed. It helps.

Yes it makes you feel more sleepy and dazed than any other type of feeling.

I wait until the pickle jar is full and then wash the avb and then boil it in water and coconut grease. Filter it, cool down, separate grease from water, melt again and pour in a chocolate bar mold. Freeze the infused grease bar and use as many blocks for cookies or any food as you like. Warning, can be quite strong.

I used to conserve and eat it but since the scarcity is gone, I don’t care anymore and will just toss it. Plus my AVB is mostly pretty dark anyway, so not much to get there.

This is one of the few takes I’ve seen on ABV testing. They show after their most vaped bud the ratio is about 3:1 THC:CBN.

I have so much real weed I don’t have any need for ABV knock on wood , but large doses of edibles in general can make a person sleepy. I often wonder how much of ABV makes you sleepy is CBN vs people taking larger doses than they realize.

Years ago, I tried saving and using ABV. Now, I dump my ABV into a duff cup, and every Sunday I dump it into my compost bin. Every Sunday, I can see if I’m using more or less that week than the week before. The compost will go back in the yard from which it came, and the cycle continues. When I load my grinder, I save small leaves and stems, tiny buds, etc. and that’s what I use to make tinctures, salves, balms, sugar, edibles. Better flavor, and not so sleep inducing. If I were to need to use my ABV for personal consumption, I know how, but I don’t want to make something that won’t get used. Far better to enrich the soil and grow again for me and mine.

Do you decarboxylate?

Yes, I do. I use the Ardent FX to decarb. The only time I don’t decarb is if I’m using a puck left after pressing rosin. That I decarb sometimes, use as is sometimes. It’s always strong, so I don’t know it always needs it. The Ardent FX makes decarboxilating easy, and I like that the smell is contained. No need to give free breeze to the neighbors.

Here it is on Amazon!

As a vap(or)ist I hadn’t given that much thought. Thank you!

decarb ABV? No, not needed.

To be clear, I meant I decarbed the green trim, not ABV which has been heated more than sufficiently to decarboxilate. I don’t do a thing with ABV other than compost.

ABV goes in the trash. Extracting until dark brown. I did once try the abv peanut butter sandwich…. never again lol.
