Editorial :

I purchased the Air Vape Legacy Pro 2 (AVLP2) because it was marked down so much for pre-release. The initial release was not good, but it appears the bugs are worked out now. Even with the initial bugs, I was surprised by how much I liked it. Don’t get me wrong, this is not a cloud monster, and while taste is a personal preference this isn’t my best tasting vape. It won’t slam me as fast as many others. It has other strengths though.

This is more a sipper. It has a lot of draw resistance but that helps to remind to sip, not rip. Initially I was thinking it was hot, and really needed more cooling, but once I settled on gentle sips and stopped trying to take big hits, it became a non-issue.

I’ve seen a lot of complaints about cleaning the AVLP devices, and the AVLP2 has an improved flow to make cleaning easier. I think a lot of the complaints is that the device always looks dirty if even one bowl has been vaped, but the resin and avb doesn’t effect performance and is easily wiped off with an alcohol wipe.

This has become my main pocket vape. The short stem and small size are very pocket friendly, the dull cloth finish is very discrete, and Airvape has probably the best designed capsules I have used, zero lost trying to open so far! It’s easy to swap the 18650 on the go, but I’ve been getting 6-10 bowls per battery, so seldom need extra, and it charges fast enough, I usually just charge in the device.

Device after 2 bowls.

I’ve used mine twice and forgot I have it. I recall the flavor was pretty good but I have been not using capsules because it’s too much effort in my use case unless I know I’ll be using them within 24 hours, so I moved on to other devices that were easier to clean after each session/bowl.

At the $100 price point I got mine I’m still happy with it as a spare or something I can let someone who doesn’t consume often use as a hybrid option.

The mouthpiece is way too short though.

My cork material still looks new with no wrinkles, but I have not been handling it much at all and that is probably a factor.

I agree it’s a great little vape and at $99 pre-order when it came out it was a steal. I have the AVLP1 as well. The mouthpiece is indeed too short in the new version but manageable.

Taste and performance is great for the price and it’s really quite portable. If you have the capsules that go with it, it keeps the vape really clean and they also work well with other vapes like the Frolic and Convex.

I remove the oval screen next to the bowl when using the capsules to improve airflow. You could also place a 15mm screen over the bowl when not using capsules to remove that oval screen. It’s a pain to clean and doesn’t accomplish much. Also, the magnet keeping it in place is way too weak.

The promised “longer” mouthpiece is available for ~15usd iirc. That makes me sad. Otherwise a reasonable update.

I’d like this vape a lot more if it were $99

The rest of the world is paying $200. It doesn’t seem accurate to review it as a $99 vape.

Also, I want to see them swap the hinged lid to a sliding lid like the original Matrix cell phones.

Buying a full price AVLP2 is like buying a full sofa.

Not recommended.

But for $99 I am happy. A very small vape, taste is okay. Battery life fairly good. Easy to clean.

I wanted a vape I could travel with and would not care if I lost. This ticks that box.

So true . I guess we’re not the average DHV consumer though. I’ve never paid full price for Airvape stuff.

But there is something that makes me feel like a Fancy Gentleman when using gold plating! In total agreement on the pricing. The s?h situation left a bad taste for me, and added another factor into the V.A.S. formula when deciding on a new device. Mine evaded the cork issues but the dreaded " clamshell " issue needs a grip, or band for best seal. I went DEVO method and whipped it. What Hawake2nd said NOPE on the mpa. in Frugal zone We make things fit.

Overall I’d give the original Alvp an A- and this one a B-. I do love the temp range for “sandwiched material” usage.

I kind of agree on the pricing. I think it would be a great vape even at $150, but $200 seems steep even to me, but it would depend on your needs. This is my stealth vape most of the time. You can leave it sitting on the table and no one realizes what it is, and the short stem that gets all the hate stays secure in my pocket. But then I think a lot of modern vapes and even the S&B lineup is over priced too, but I still have them and use them.

I got in at the $99 price point and I agree at that price or even $150, it’s a great device. My biggest gripe is the power button on mine, it’s mushy and not always working.

I did a couple of returns for the button. So far, the button on my most recent one seems to be holding up, hopefully that was fixed. The most recent one also had a good smooth covering, and zero air leaks.

Thanks for sharing, as the current button on my AVLP2 drives me nuts. If finally found a technique to get it on and off, but especially while being outside (that’s why I bought it) it’s really annoying. So I’ll contact the support.

Unfortunately the long mouthpiece isn’t available at the EU store - so I could combine a replacement with the moutpiece (15 bucks for this isn’t cheap, but if you add 12 bucks for delivery it’s a big no for me).

As I recall, on my last replacement (it was the first one that wasn’t covered under the new vape fiasco) it was a $15 warranty fee, but they sent me a free gift that was listed at around $15 when they sent the new unit. I don’t remember if I also paid shipping, or if that was the $15.
