I’m really new to this ball vape situation
but yesterday I scored a few grams of bubble hash and I’ve been trying it out in the B2
wondering if anyone has tips for getting optimal vaporization
If the bubble hash has a high THC percentage, it might be necessary to reheat and stir in between to get a full extraction. I think it extracts best in the ball vape when mixed with flower. Personally i prefer to just dump it from the top in the terp slurper if the hash melts more or less good (maybe if the THC content is higher than 50%). I like to have it in the heater coil while inhaling so it keeps heating during the pull. After the vaping i let the slurper cool down to 100°C (212F) and just flood it with a bit of alcohol from the top until the vaped hash gets flushed out. Works to me most of the time, sometimes the holes get clogged and i have to clean them with a needle.
Use flower to make a sandwich in your bowl (flower-hashish-flower). Or use vape floss, in cotton, rayon or hemp, instead of flower. All work well, I like degummed, undyed hemp floss best, I bought a half pound off ETSY for under 10usd along with a pound of undyed cotton floss (also quite cheap). VGOODIEZ also carries cotton and rayon floss in more reasonable quantities for cheap. A pound really is a bunch.
I like to flatten it into a disc and lay it on top of the load, with enough space around the edges for airflow. That way it gets the full blast of heat. Since the hash takes more heat than the herb, I find that works better than mixing or sandwiching. This little video is old (remember the Elev8r?), but the technique holds with more current ball vapes.
Use a small bed of ground flower as a base to bring the hash closer to the heat source for a better extraction
If you do not want the mix then using a concentrate pad like the one Storz & Bickel sell for the Volcano. Does the same thing as a bed of flower.

Unpressed hash. Works the same way as other types. Although the different types of hash have varying degrees of subjective happiness.
What temp are you using for hash?
That is how it is after the dry on bubble hash. You can use it as is, press it to rosin or make a more traditional hash like temple ball or plates.
From my experience with the dry stuff, if you keep it cold and hit it fresh it still maintains more of the strain taste. If you leave it room temp or just time gets to it, it gets that standard “hash” taste.
Is it hash if it the trichome heads haven’t been squished at all tho?
In my opinion that’s a hard no - it’s kief
You need to pop a certain percentage of the heads and expose the inner goo to start the reaction and leave it for a few months to cure and let the hashishene develop, before it’s hash in my opinion.

That maybe your opinion, but it’s established parlance that non-squashed heads extracted with water are bubble hash. You would need to be a massive influencer to change that now.
