Hi guys
What do you think of the CXL v2 and other models from Camouflet? My daily choice is the Tempest2 with Core. I’ve had the Anvil, Tornado, Punch v2, and a few DVs. I wanted to try something new and I’d never tried a Camouflet. I’m primarily interested in flavor and extraction power. What are your impressions? Cheers!
They can smack pretty well. XL with the supercap is the move from what I understand. I have the supercap on the way.
I also have a convector V2.
You just have to learn the timing. There’s no Visual indicator other than flame color or clicks.
One of my all time favorites, lots of airflow for a stick, really reactive on draw one of the fastest to cloud up a bong, flavors solid, can be a little hot for vapor though. The bowl is also one of the best bowls for the Hornet and works with the Injector from Camouflet also. Heats up and cools down quick. Personally think its the most different vape signature of all the stick vapes. Usually the vape I use in the morning.
How does the taste compare to Tempest or Anvil? In CXL, do you reheat one bowl several times, or is it better to reheat it with OHE? I’d like to be able to reheat it several times.
Flavor is more terpy and convection based. I try to get everything out of the bowl in one heat up sometimes two..my tolerance is too high for light sipping of one bowl over an extended period, but it can be done.
I had the Convector V2 for a while. It was the fastest to temp, produced great tasty vapor when properly heated, but also was the least forgiving torch vape I’ve owned. I really like the convector’s design concept and tired loving it, but the device was too finicky for me. The cap is very thin and without any tempature indicators the vapor window is also thin. This left my herb either under vaped or combusted. I’ve combusted many bowls with the convector. I tested using both induction and torch heating, but results where fairly similar. If the standard cap had more mass it might be more forgiving.
I have no issues with vapes that don’t have temperature indicators. I love my TRWW and Stunner devices. I just don’t like the Convector’s tempature threshold.
I agree that the Camouflet sticks have a smaller window for a good bowl vs under-cooking or combustion. In my mind this is a trade-off for their short heating times. They’re just quicker so they require more precise heating times.
I don’t use torches but I’ve had a lot of success with the CeramoXL and the Wand. I count flashes to get consistent heating times and try to err on the side of not combusting. Sometimes this will lead to re-heats but I don’t mind. I don’t need to chase one heat extractions because the tastiest hits don’t come from those.
You can also mitigate combustions by taking gentle puffs at the start to gauge how hot things are before ripping. I’ve saved combustions by removing the cap when I feel the vapor tastes too burnt.
The Ceramo has excellent taste. Reminds me a lot of the ZX signature.
The Convector XL is a winner. It’s relatively easy to use and it spits out great vapor and great flavor.
The cap and its fit is the weak point, and it’s merely an interface hiccup.
I’ve had the og Convector for a few years now and I could never get it right consistently so I always stuck with my Dynavaps with armored caps. I may give it a shot once or twice a year these days. Maybe I need to keep an open mind about the xl v2. Always loved the speed and concept I just couldn’t master the torch technique.
Amazing vape, absolute necessity to use the Super Cap if your induction heating. If your ball vaping use a UB Stick Vape Adapter and that CXLv2 bowl is the best 1 hit extraction you can get.

I put my CXL2 tip into a Lotus WPA bowl, works really well with super cap and UB stick vape, doesnt collect nowhere near as much reclaim as a dynavap glass wpa

I have the CXL v1 with the Super Cap. I started with a Crafty then a TM2. I picked up the CXL in November and ordered the Super Cap in April. I love it. Yes, there’s a technique to get used to but it doesn’t take long. I set my YLL 3.0 to 80 for 23 seconds and I get clouds on the 2nd hit (the first is lighter and tastes great). I also use a torch and combust once in a blue moon, really not a concern. I can’t compare with any other stick vapes but it hits great.
An interesting note, if you need to clean the ceramic insert in a hurry, I accidently found that blowing air from a compressor into the mouthpiece of the CXL from about an inch back with your finger blocking the other end will force the built-up resin to blow back out of the mouthpiece 
I’m using it on a stem with a mix of balls and such and holy hell do those get hot. Going to try to put their condenser in this afternoon.
I reach for and use (WPA mode) either the CXL or Ceramo more often than any of my other vapes in the past year or so. So quick/easy heat up, somewhat controllable, and good flavor.
