DIY: Sherlock Pipe mod, 14mm joint

This is a DIY guide on how to squeeze a 14mm adapter into the bowl of a sherlock style tobacco pipe using o-rings! This mod works well with many 14mm vape connections: Dynavaps, TheRougeWaxWorks quartz, Inhale Lotus, ball vapes, etc.

  • MUXIANG Churchwarden Tobacco Pipe
  • Unground Glass 14mm to 19mm Adapter
  • Fluorine Rubber O-Rings, 16mm OD 14mm ID 1mm Width:
    • Top adapter o-ring, three used
  • Fluorine Rubber O-Rings, 16mm OD 13mm ID 1.5mm Width:
    • Bottom adapter o-ring, two used
  • (Optional) Glass Rolling Filter Tips 8mm Outer Diameter 35mm Length:
    • This part is an optional alternative to the 9mm active carbon filter that may come with the pipe or no filter at all.

I plan to do something similar with my lotus when I buy a high quality churchwarden pipe (Ropp, Molina, Savinelli). I have a caulk tube full of food safe to 600f silicone. My plan was to block off the bottom of the bowl, then fill it with silicone, push in the lotus bowl and let it cure. I should wind up with a perfectly fitting, airtight plug with a 14mm hole, after a little trimming.

Right on. I’ve worked with Sil-Bond’s food grade silicone adhesive before on separate projects to glue/seal rubber grommets into holes for pipe pieces. Very interesting stuff. Super strong.
