Anyone ever get the Device Too Hot error?
I got it for the first time ever tonight. I remember Jerry getting that error early in testing, but i thought it had to do with a sloppy oring or something.
I got the error tonight on my 3rd hit of a sesh at 375
I’ve seen the too hot error a couple of times in on-demand mode at 464 if I hold the button down too long. But have never seen it in session mode (I typically run 390 for 8min).
I have — rarely. Almost always on-demand at 240C (Max), but have also had occur at 220C.
For reference, I always use less than 0.05g in S&B dosing capsules. When it occurs, I find it’s good to go again, very quickly. For me, it’s likely to happen again with the same capsule.
I don’t know what I don’t know, and am still learning — but my assumption was the overheating had a couple factors — very fine (bottom of jar!) grind, and probably draw style (too fast or slow?).
Anyways, the last occurrence for me was at least a couple months ago, and I haven’t made any adjustments to the settings. I have an early unit.
I’ve got it at 428 session, and the ABV was near black.
I recalibrated the TCR as per the guide that’s floating around out there and haven’t had it pop up since.
@420vapezone - I’ve gotten the error several times, but always when doing multiple hits at the high end of the on demand temperature range, I don’t ever remember getting it in session mode. I even usually run at max temp in session mode, but I have only tried calibrating mine per Dejan’s instructions, not any of the calibration tweaks.
Yes, I see that warning after doing more than two successive 3 minute sessions at 345 to 375 Fahrenheit.

Seen the message, but only when using a green wrap 21700, it’s a lesser battery I think. Using only good beige wrap batteries and demand mode, never seen it again.

Thankfully I haven’t seen it and I’ve used it at a picnic with it sitting in direct sunlight in between uses. The unit can get very warm, but I’ve never gotten an error
