I have a couple of stems I got from TRWW when I got the direct oven attachment for my Frolic, but I haven’t been what I would say happy with either of them yet. They are great for flavor and airflow but man it gets hot quick! As others have said, it really shows how effective the stock CU is.
The two stems I have from TRWW for reference are the TMS01 and TMS05
I’m looking for a different stem to get and wanted to see what others are recommending currently especially if they’ve tried multiple stems?
I think one or two mention they have used these but if they are well liked I wasn’t sure which version to get (short or long) like if the balls in the long one make it a real pain to clean or anything.
I just mainly want to maximize flavor and minimize heat with a piece I can use silicone plugs on for sealing off the ambient smell when not in use.
The stems with the frolic direct adapter sit much more shallow than in the tinymight, so the short version IMO would be the better choice. The longer version would stick out a lot. I have an infinity pipe I use with my frolic direct adapter and WPA, but not the TM2 stems version. It doesn’t have the balls, but plenty of cooling. I like it, but the condenser mouthpiece O ring is a pain for some people. His assembly videos help, there’s a technique to it.
I really like the tinymight 2 missile stem, although it does look a bit… phallic, to some. The balls do a good job cooling, it’s not that bad to dump them out while warm onto a paper towel and clean them, or dump them out into a dish of iso.
The “rocket stem” with all of the multicolored balls is too big a pain to clean, since you can’t empty it.
I’ve also really enjoyed using the direct adapter with the 14mm WPA and a 14mm TRWW cooling stem. Holds secure.
Yeah usually I would just buy both but these are on the pricier side so I am more hesitant to do that lol.
So with the short version it should have enough cooling for back to back draws? That was my main concern along with ease of cleaning versus the longer version with the balls. With the current TRWW stems I have to wait a minute or so between draws or it’s way too hot.
I’ve been very happy with this solution i posted in the original Frolic Thread . I don’t really use anything else anymore but i have tried the TS-Wood stems and the Glass Charlie shorty but they get hot and the wooden stem is very loose in the DOA.

I’m also still happy with the solution I posted in the Frolic thread. The stems with the 14mm mouthpiece can get your flower much closer to the heater, allowing you to lower the temps. The glass joint adds conduction while absorbing heat and keeping it from your lips.
I do find the stem can get hot with repeated draws but I rarely have to wait any appreciable time to take the next draw. I’m going to try and find a 14mm mouthpiece that allows me to add some cooling beads to see how it compares to the current dimpled stem.
I have a Tinymight Sidecar Bubbler, Tinymight XL Cooling Stem, and a XL Rocket Stem, all of them from VGoodiez. The most cooling comes from the XL Rocket Stem. I find the Sidecar Bubbler with water has to be drawn on too slow to work effectively with the Frolic. Dry it works well, but isn’t as cool as the Rocket.
Frolic’s only fault - besides eating up jars too fast - is the spray of AVB particles every time I pull the top off. Seriously, is there a solution, besides opening it over a sink, eh.
I think you can reduce this by tapping hard on the aluminum heat sink (with the word “Limelight” etched on it) with your finger a few times before opening the unit. This will help loosen any material stuck to the screen and have it drop down into the bowl.
@TigoleBitties Many thanks! Like yourself, I prefer stems to the stock CU - which works admirably but I don’t like cleaning. Stems I just soak in a jar of isopropyl after a day. It’s the way I open Frolic. I might be due for a new silicone washer, perhaps. Crack the top and tap it. I have two brushes and manage to get that avb dirt everywhere. Stems stay really clean though. I’ve also learned you don’t need a tubeful of rubies to cool vapor, though it looks cool. Halfway gets better airflow after a while.
