I don’t remember if this is in the tutorial, but I don’t really follow the general chat much so it always shows the unread message icon on my browser. Not a big deal except I have missed a few direct messages I wasn’t aware of until days or weeks later.
For anyone else who may not have been aware, it’s pretty easy to mute the chat.
First, click on the chat icon at the top right.
For me, it loaded the general chat. Fron there just click on the name of the chat:
That takes you to the info/settings page where you can toggle to mute:
No more missed DMs!
