I think I’m gonna buy a new vape, help please

Hello guys, I think this summer is time for a new device. I own several vapes, but so far, I haven’t been able to leave combustion. My favourite vapour must be the one produced by my Tempest 2, but I think I need something more on-demand. I say that because one other vape I enjoy quite a bit is the Xmax V4, but I find it needs a far too long draw to ger any vapour, and when I feel it built some, it makes me cough a lot.

So, after a very extensive study, I concluded that I need a heavy hitter, loads of strong vapour, and I need a portable, for I’m too clumsy for bongs.

I’ve narrowed my search to either the Frolic or the Tinymight 2 black edition. What are your recommendations between these two devices?

Frolics look a bit hard to clean (big con)

Tm2 worries me it’s gonna be like the xmax.

Edit: Ps excuse my English lol I refuse to use AI

I’d vote Frolic

It has more airflow than the TM and responds much better to fast and heavy hits

I haven’t tested the newest Tinymight, but I can’t imagine it’s a major gamechanger over the TM2 considering it’s not being called the TM3

Frolic all day. It would be my choice based on battery life alone, but I like the vapor better too, and the high airflow.

I’d agree. I’ll also add if you’re coughing on the XMax with long draws, it’s just the way convection vapes work, and the TM2 is definitely convection.

A lot of people find cigar style puffs work to prime the material as it’s only “cooking” as you draw air over it.

Convection vapes also seem to give you those terps that can cause irritation as you build the vapor, “terp tickle”…

The Frolic is the choice here, with the DTO adapter you can get TinyMight style hits, or use the cooling unit for a bit smoother vapor.

So, frolic scoring a lot of points! If might I ask, I’ve heard comparisons saying Frolic’s battery life is similar to TM2, which shouldn’t as Frolics is a 21000 vs TM 18000, that confounds me a bit.

frolic has better battery life than TM2

I get 6 or 7 bowls, sometimes 8, with the Frolic

I’m lucky to get 5 with the TM2, usually 4.

My TM2 is older though

Tiny might 2 battery life is far far worse than a Frolics im lucky if I get 3 bowls out of the TM2 before the power dips. I don’t bother with it once it comes off the green indicator

I have 2 TM2s. One gets 3 bowls per battery, the other dies on the second bowl, both with new batteries.

I’m not sure how many bowls I’m getting out of the Frolic, but is over 6 in on demand, but more in session mode.

Limelight offers a “direct output adapter” that lets you use TM stems, and would (probably) greatly change how cleaning is factored in.

I still have the OG cooling unit, and find cleaning the device no different than cleaning my Mighty+ or Venty. Not an easy as the TB2 to clean, for sure — but not terrible, either.

I plan on ordering the new cooling unit and the direct adapter — but I’ve been telling myself that for a while now. One day!

They change anything in the cooling unit besides the dosing cap compatibility?

I am fairly new with my Frolic but I have only been getting 6-7 bowls per charge with it. My TM2 I have a fleet of batteries and the oldest ones give me 3-4 bowls per charge and the two newest batteries I get 6. So I don’t see much difference in the battery life to make a noticeable difference for me. I have found I need a couple spare batteries for the Frolic kit just as the TM2 kit. I will be the outlier here because I prefer the taste from the TM2 over my Frolic and I can clear a bowl quicker on a comparable heat level on the TM2 as well. So for me after week 1 I still prefer the TinyMight 2.

I don’t think so.

I use S&B caps all the time, even though the CU has a tiny gap with the capsules.

I’ll eventually order the new (“better” S&B capsule compatibility) and the direct output adapter and some other bits.

can you tell us more about how you’re using each? On-demand or sesh? temps? Number of hits?

Your post gives me hope. I need to buy new 18650s this year.

Well there are some differences since with the Frolic I’ve been running on demand at 390. I take a moderately hard pull that last about 6-8 seconds since the airflow is so easy. With my TM2 I am at setting 7-7.5 on the dial so that one’s a guess and I use that in session mode. The increased restriction slows my draw down to about 8-10. The Frolic I came across was used so the battery could have been worn a bit but the unit was in mint shape and looked to have never been used.

The no. of hits on each the TM2 I am using the short glass Missile stem from VGoodies and loaded I get 2 good pulls and often go for a 3rd but it’s always mostly spent. On the Frolic I am getting about 4-5 good hits often. The vapor on the Frolic is like the best of both worlds between a Venty and a TM2. Also the vapor comes easier I think from the Frolic as a Venty does where the technique comes into play more with the TM2. I am just partial to the convection Terp profile. The bowl seems a bit larger on the Frolic compared to that TM2 stem so I will need to do a more thorough examination in the future and measure/document the difference. Been going back and forth today between the two and it’s tough since they are both so incredibly awesome. They are my 1 and 1A vapes.

I have been drooling over the new TinyMight 2 Black Walnut. Maybe someday

@FortyFistHits - The original cooling unit had extra on the lip to keep it from closing with the S&B dosing caps, and a different material for the o-rings.

I wanna hear more about your draw style. How long are your hits?

I guess it depends. I come from smoking spliffs, I’m used to short puff with big clouds. When I vape, I find the most similar style to that with my Tempest 2, short draw big clouds.

With xmax, i take long slow draw, until I can feel the vapour in my throat.

Full disclosure: I was on the design team for the vape I’m about to recommend. I acknowledge my bias up front.

The Lobo is great for potent sips. While full convection vapes can require a longer pull to get the thickest hits, the Lobo has enough conduction going on that it can reward a slower, sippy session. Personally, I like to force it into a convection style and rip through a bowl on a bubbler in one or two big hits. But my wife loves it because she can slow down and take little sips that still pack a punch. In fact, I’ve come around to this style as an alternative for myself.

Downsides - the denser vapor comes at the expense of some flavor. If you’re a flavor chaser, keep the temp below 370F. Also, longer, higher temp rips may require one of the extra cooling mouthpieces/bubblers made for it. But you’re a sipper, and I have found that I can take sips across all the temps without more cooling than the standard stem. Vapor comfort is a personal thing, and I know others might disagree.
