I was hitting my mighty plus with the Gordito Mini bubbler and looked down to see what appeared to be ingrained cracks in the glass. I thought well I guess it’s time to get another! However I went to clean it with hot milk and she looks to be just fine!
I have been only recently been doing this stem milk stuff for a couple of weeks and I’m thinking this might have occurred because the glass walls are kinda thin and the milk may have warmed up the bubbler too much in the process. Does anyone know much about this kinda stuff or am I worrying over nothing?

I’ve never tried the milk thing with a bubbler because it’s kinda hard to get the milk in and out of where the oils are. I usually just do it with stems that the fluid can easily flow through. My guess is that happened when the bubbler was tapping against the pot as it simmered or boiled, but I wasn’t there so who knows. But to answer your question, I don’t think it’s ruined. It could get worse with more shocks, but in that state I don’t think it poses any harm.

Ok thank you! My technique for the milk was to heat it up for about 2 mins in the microwave so it gets quite warm/hot and then I put the bubbler into the milk and just let it rest in it. Maybe I should try to bring the glass up to temp more slowly next time rather than just shoving it into hot milk?

That might help. But you need to get the milk inside the bubbler. That’s where the oils are. I would probably fill the bubbler with milk and then microwave that.
