Is my Veazy supposed to do this?

This is continued from a convo in the main Veazy thread:

I reassembled the CU and hit it again. I don’t think it was any different. But I did realize that the green ready light turned blinking orange about 2 seconds into the rip. Was ripping hard like @420vapezone suggested. Does it normally lose temp that quickly? I assume that’s what it means

As mentioned in the other thread the Veazy does not have a super powerful heater, it’s not terribly difficult to over power. Yes, the flashing orange light means it is heating again.

Oh. I was hoping that meant there was something wrong with it.

I started to understand the vape more, using it this time. Unfortunately I think I’ve been spoiled by the current crop of portable vapes. My first and only vape for a while was the solo 3 which, from what everyone said, ran with the big dogs. But I could get it for $240 (Had planned to get a frolic until the last minute then made the wiser economic decision)

Anyway, the Solo 3 is my point of reference. So my assumption, given my naive equating of price point with experience, was that it would be somewhat less powerful with less taste than my solo 3 but would offer something different as well.

Between that expectation and the fact that I got into dhv in the middle of a heater arms race, where it seems like every new (decent) vape has an amazing heater, I was disappointed by the power. I know the Veazy can’t be allowed to outshine their flagship product, but at the same time s&b need to realize that they have to change their approach or they risk becoming relevant only to collectors

Maybe that’s what Jürgen Bickel is doing while he’s waiting out his non-compete

Pretty normal has been my experience doesn’t seem to make a huge difference to the hit though. Slow your draw down a little

Take a slow steady draw, not ripping hard

Okay cause that’s what I did first. When I complained about the vape @420vapezone suggested I tamp it hard and hit it like I meant it. So sounds like there’s Troy’s way and everyone else’s :joy: I do find though that I like to rip like he does so I usually give his perspective greater weight but I’ve tried both already. But I haven’t tried going lighter without the cap… so guess I’ll have to try one more time “for science”

veazy has built in restriction, i hit it hard to keep the hit consistent

it works. i fill the bowl and tamp a bit

i let the light go green before hitting the vape again

hitting it too rapidly and not letting it recover will yield a soft experience, but overall the Veazy can keep up

I learned an important lesson about the importance of finding the right draw rate for a given vape myself, especially since I got conflicting recommendations from different people. Wound up taking @Northernhigh420 ’s suggestion and backing off a little (maybe a 4 if 5 is sucking on the restriction). Pack was mounded full then tamped into the bowl per @420vapezone Grinder was SCS medium because that’s what my only grinder is

Wow. Not only does it make very respectable clouds when used properly, the taste seems better too. Maybe the taste improves as the airpath is covered with a thin layer of reclaim?

All of my criticisms were based on user error. So sorry for all the drama and thanks for the attempts at helping me troubleshoot. I will definitely play a lot more with my next vape before I venture an opinion about it.

yea sorry if my advice led you astray

i don’t think i can overpower my veazy, maybe you have stronger lungs than I do

hitting it now, i don’t hit it as hard as I can - i just hit it as hard as it lets me.

One more time the community at 420vapezone found a solution for a problem someone has with a vaporizer. Mission accomplished , no need to apologize

It’s all good! It’s just a problem inherent to describing something that you can’t measure. Your “hit it like you mean it” meant do it the way I wound up finding. To me it meant “suck on it like a milkshake”. That wound up not being what you meant :joy:

happy that worked for you :sign_of_the_horns:
