# New RIPPER by Santa Cruz Shredder

Santa Cruz has a new, more affordable weed grinder.

The RIPPER is made out of cast aluminum alloy instead of being milled from round stock.

It’s only available in the 2" version - in 2pc, 3pc ,or 4pc.

Rose Gold, Matte Gold, and a few other color options.

Most importantly - the RIPPER is almost HALF THE PRICE as the standard Santa Cruz Shredder.

The teeth aren’t serrated like the shredder - they’re smooth and tapered like on their hemp grinders.

I’ve only been using it for a week or so, but so far I think it works ok. I prefer a finer grind, but holding it upside down gives me the consistency I desire.

I LOVE the rose gold color, and the cheaper prices will make this a winner.

added a picture of the rose gold teeth

up close you can see that they’re tapered and straight edge instead of serrated like the classic Santa Cruz Shredder

Going off name alone … I presumed this was a Collab between Santa Cruz and herb ripper.

updating my review a bit - the ripper doesn’t grind as fine as the BCG fine plate, even when grinding upside-down

overall it performs good. it’s slightly more coarse than the standard santa cruz

it seems like a good budget grinder, but it’s not as luxurious or premium feeling as more expensive grinders
