They replied and it sounds like they are following the thread but don’t plan to join and get involved. They appreciate our commentary and look forward to seeing our feedback down the line. I feel like FC was the reason the Frolic and Dejan really got traction so I think that’s a bad decision on their part and will result in lost sales from some or most of us but maybe they change their mind and join when they are further along.
They said they will keep Instagram as their primary source for new info. Which is great if you use Instagram but I know many of us aren’t into that type of social media and I hate the lack of ability to research and look at historical info (kinda the whole reason I love this site and FC).
I think they responded on Reddit because there were too many outrageous comments on there. Reddit hivemind can be a bitch.

Yeah, I had an account on IG, but maybe I’m too old for it, but I can never find information I need. I ended up deleting the app, but apparently still have an account, or at least get daily email from them I can’t stop.

So the owner, Kristoffer, reached out to me after the earlier messages and asked for a call. I just got off the phone with him and up front I will say he was a very cool dude and easy to converse with.
It was good to get some insight, though I was asked not to share everything since they are still relatively early in the process and did not expect the German shop to post details so soon.
One detail I can share now is that the battery pack is proprietary and consists of a 2x18650 battery configuration. Battery life is not locked while they are working on maximizing efficiency with the software, but it sounds like they are aiming for it to last at least one full magazine. To me, that would be perfect.
Oh the volume of each chamber is estimated to be .2-.3g so it should be quite a beast if it performs.
The call was cut short for personal reasons… if we are able to resume the call please let me know if anyone has a meaningful question and I will be happy to ask.

That’s because they have working prototype units but are still working on the software. It’s definitely not a complete device yet. It sounded like maybe a couple more months but I dunno for sure.
When I joined the preorder list the reply email just said that production was to start later this year.
I’m looking forward to this one too. Looks like the grinder has a toothless design.

There’s a new Swedish vaporizer that should be hitting the market soon: the Ocarena One from Ocarena Group.
I already made a post about it on Reddit, but it received so much negativity that I ended up deleting it after just a few hours. I get it—people are getting tired of seeing vaporizers priced like brand-new smartphones. Still, this one has really caught my attention because of its unique high-capacity chamber magazine system, so I thought I’d share what I’ve found so far.
The company has already released several videos showing how the vaporizer works, but there still isn’t a complete demonstration of the actual vapor production. According to comments on their Instagram account (@ocarenagroup), the device is expected to launch this autumn, and pre-orders are already available through the French retailer La Centrale Vapeur.
Key Features (based on currently available information)
*All-metal construction
CNC-machined from a solid block of high-quality aluminum with a hard-anodized finish. The vapor path is completely plastic-free, focusing on durability, precision, and vapor purity.
*100% convection heating
Pure convection with precise temperature control. Adjustable from 180°C to 230°C, with four preset temperatures (180°C, 200°C, 220°C, and 230°C). Heat-up time is advertised at around 30 seconds in session mode.
*Revolver-style chamber magazine
The standout feature. The magazine holds up to 7 individual chambers with a combined capacity of approximately 2 grams of herb. Once a bowl is finished, simply rotate the magazine to access a fresh chamber without needing to reload.
*Replaceable battery
Powered by a rechargeable lithium-ion battery pack with USB-C charging. A full charge reportedly takes around 120 minutes, and the modular design allows batteries to be swapped easily for longer outings.
*Size and weight
Measures approximately 148 mm × 65 mm × 22 mm and weighs about 420 g. Definitely not a pocket featherweight, but it appears to be built like a premium piece of equipment.
*Modular ecosystem
Planned accessories include a magnetic grinder that interfaces directly with the magazine, allowing all seven chambers to be loaded quickly and cleanly. Additional magazines, maintenance tools, and a carrying case are also expected.
A Shift Toward Pure Convection?
One thing I’ve noticed lately is that more and more manufacturers seem to be moving toward pure convection designs. Just a few years ago, the market was dominated by conduction and hybrid devices. Today, many of the most interesting new releases appear to be focused on convection-only heating.
Why It Interests Me
I’m a fairly serious vaporizer collector with more than 25 devices in my collection. My VAS (Vaporizer Acquisition Syndrome) had finally started calming down (thanks to the Frolic) over the past few months, but the Ocarena One has definitely reignited it.
I love long hikes—often 4 to 5 hours or more. Right now, I usually bring my Frolic. It works great, but every hour or so I have to stop, pull out my herb container, grab my little scoop, reload the bowl, and continue.
Before anyone suggests dosing capsules, I’ve already tried them and they’re just not for me. I find they noticeably restrict the airflow, and the Frolic’s free-flowing draw is one of the reasons I enjoy it so much. Having to stop and reload isn’t the end of the world, but it definitely breaks the rhythm when you’re deep into a long hike and fully enjoying the moment.
With the Ocarena One, I could preload all seven chambers before leaving home and simply rotate to a fresh bowl whenever needed. For someone who spends hours outdoors, that sounds incredibly convenient. No containers to carry, no scoops to pull out, no stopping to reload—just rotate the magazine and keep moving.
Honestly, that’s probably the feature that interests me the most. The pure convection heating, premium construction, and modular design are all appealing, but it’s the ability to have multiple bowls ready to go in a single device that really makes the Ocarena One stand out from anything else currently on the market.
The Price
Now for the controversial part.
The Ocarena One is expected to cost approximately €600 without accessories and around €700 with accessories, depending on the configuration. The main accessory is the magnetic grinder system that allows you to efficiently fill all seven chambers at once.
Yes, that’s undeniably premium territory. But at the same time, the build quality, modular design, repairability, replaceable battery, and unique chamber magazine system make it one of the most innovative portable vaporizers I’ve seen in quite a while.
Anyway, I wanted to start a discussion with the information currently available.
I also run a small YouTube channel called TKVape, and honestly, ever since FuckCombustion disappeared, I’ve felt a bit disconnected from the community. Finding this forum has been refreshing, and it’s nice to have a place to discuss new devices again.

Funny how some people love to complain about the price tag of things they apparently aren’t going to buy anyway.
The vape itself seems interesting but the multiple chambers seem to mostly make sense on the go, while the bulkiness and weight undermine this.
I’m mostly interested in manual vapes nowadays but I’ll keep my eye on this. If it turns out to have exceptional performance or flavour or something like that, I might think about it. Otherwise the features aren’t that appealing to me personally.

I’m a bit concerned about the magazine system for this vape. I’m a fan of hard-anodized aluminum as a static vapor path since the coating is essentially aluminum oxide, a ceramic. Using hard anodized aluminum in a rotating magazine though… how will they deal with any friction points?
We can already see from the Bowle that scraping hard anodized aluminum against itself leads to a fine dust (ceramic dust and aluminum dust likely) on the underside of the bowl. Luckily this isn’t an intake point and there’s gasket there but it’s still not ideal. I can’t inhale if I block my TB2’s dedicated air intake.
I hope that they use some PEEK or a bearing or some other design to prevent any anodized metal friction otherwise they would somehow have to properly isolate the magazine from the vapor path and that doesn’t sound easy.

Man this is a really good point i wasn’t considering! I don’t know what the magazines mechanism for movement is but I’d imagine it would have to magnetically attach to a bearing for this to not be a concern… especially if you are also grinding (seems more a miller than a grinder imo) with that material and the magazine being the bottom piece.
