I am going to keep this in the back of mind. It looks like something I would enjoy! Thanks for the idea!
thats awesome you have a heater cover that works well… really depressing that they changed it, but im trying to talk them into fixing this issue… hopefully theyre fully moved in by now cuz i gotta send another email about it, cuz they still havent responded back yet since then… but really hoping to get a better designed heater cover with much more restriction that actually holds the heat and isnt wide open (like yours is apparently lol)… cheers tho, thanks for sharing and letting us know they actually had a better design beforehand…
Same here, though for me it was before I had the ball modification and when accidentally I left the knob turned up all the way (to speed up heating) and forgot to lower it.
I got the baller cover for my Super a few years ago and I love it. Functionally it’s barely different from the DIY SSV43 modification, but it’s a little safer (like no accidental combustion), a lot easier to assemble, and pricier. the first version used 3mm rubies and the second (current I think) version uses 6mm rubies, but I can’t perceive a difference.
I used to turn the dial to 12:00 or 1:00, but now it’s between 9:00 and 10:00 (where 6:00 is off). It heats the herb evenly, unlike before.
I’ve had fires before, and after. Keep heat low to medium on them for flavor. I still use them, just not as much, and I’m hypervigilant for flames.
They are Super Fun, other than the occasional combustion.
The one I never use is the one with the fan. Mostly because I forgot I had one until I was writing this. That might be one to pull out this weekend to refresh my memory.
