The Phase3 Z-series is a lineup of desktop convection heaters utilizing Zirconia Ceramic for maximum thermal purity. As you progress through the series, the devices increase in thermal mass and capacity to suit different extraction preferences.

ZX
The entry-level model in the series, optimized for precision and micro-dosing.

A scaled-up version of the ZX with significantly more ceramic mass for improved temperature stability.
Format: 14/18mm Injector (Corded)
Bowl Compatibility: Works with standard 18mm bowls or 18-to-14mm microdose bowls.
Optimal Load: 0.30g – 0.50g (Standard) | Down to 0.25g with microdose bowl.
Primary Use: Faster draw speeds and larger volume sessions.
Wireless ZXL
A wireless adaptation of the ZXL platform, offering freedom of movement without sacrificing performance.
Format: 14/18mm Injector (Wireless)
Design Note: The body is 30% deeper than the standard ZXL. This added depth provides the extra thermal mass required to maintain extraction temperatures without a constant power connection.
Bowl Compatibility: Shares the same bowl ecosystem as the corded ZXL (18mm or 18-to-14mm).
Hardware Requirements: Requires a 20mm coil. Use of a dedicated coil stand is highly recommended for safety.
ZXXL Wireless
The largest and highest-capacity model in the Z-series lineup, designed for maximum performance.
Format: Tapered Seal (Wireless)
Optimal Load: 0.30g – 0.50g+
Primary Use: Maximum thermal mass and high-capacity extraction via a secure, airtight tapered interface.
I haven’t heard back in a couple days though so I went ahead and created a topic.
I’ve had to keep my ZXL boxed up for the past couple months but am going to be breaking it out again in just a few more weeks when we head to the vacation place.
i did (tell Ryan about this forum i mean, @Cheesrgr8r). before i told him about that (which he hasnt responded to me yet about), he actually gave me an update about what was going on since there was a reddit shitposter saying he was “losing passion”(which i knew had to be bullshit) and was obviously being a doomer over the FC situation, so ill copy and paste the update for you guys:
“Yes I just spoke with my manufacturer and they have been dealing with some very real delays with the raw materials production which is what has been causing much of the lag. They’ve tried to keep some of my inventory but because I’m always updating and iterating small changes between cycles, it’s hard for them to maintain stock. They were going to schedule a meeting with the production department to reach a resolution as the lead times have gotten longer and longer since I started working with them. My sales engineer is confident they can reach a solution to work the lead times back down.”
“As for the other stuff, this year has been crazy slow and FC going down has definitely been rough. Basically I lost all of my “social proof” so now instead of looking like an innovator and a pioneer who has been working on this concept longer than anybody, now I just look like yet another guy trying to get it on the ball vape space.”
“…That said I don’t have any plans to go anywhere. I am going to keep innovating. My main goal is to finish and clear this backlog of stuff so I can start posting some new concepts. …so everythings all good, and once he sees my messages about all this im sure that’ll definitely be even better. excited about a new discord space to chill in too. anyways, like i said in the original post - thought sharing this would be able to give phase 3 customers still waiting, fans & lovers of the company & devices, or those still VAS-wishing to get their own in the future someday on their own wishlists can all relax and stay patient cuz good things are still coming… the FC thing just threw an annoying wrench into things, but maybe it was a wake up call the community needed and some good things, some evolution, can come of it…?
Were you referencing my rant post about VTAC on reddit? I said he doesn’t have the passion to keep FC going in the same post I said Phase3 is likely to shutter because Ryan told me things didn’t look good and without FC he had no sales and wasn’t sure if things would keep going. Ryan followed up with a less gloomy email a few days ago so maybe he wasn’t in a good place when he sent the first email back to me about the state of things.
All that reddit post was a complaint directed at VTAC, though.
Sorry, all I saw was a screenshot portion of the post, and with reddit’s reputation, I had to make sure to clarify things from Ryan and that’s the response that I got. It seems he’s in a better head space now with it all and hopefully a Discord can be started soon enough too, so he can have here and the server.
I dunno, tbh. He wasn’t around much by the time I joined so I don’t really know much about him.
Regarding this thread if anyone has some nice ZX or ZXXL (prior to returning) pics please post so I can add to the wiki post at the top. I will get this one fleshed out more soon. I was planning on doing some ZXL pics when I break it out in a couple weeks but if anyone else has a good shot to share I’d be happy to use that instead.
Edit: I reached back out to Ryan for permission to use his pics on his site and will add those for the time being assuming he gives the ok. He has updated the website it looks like, and there’s more detail and it looks cleaner for sure. Notably, I see a listing for a wireless version of the ZXL! It has an estimated ship date of May 15th currently, but I am waiting until I get more detail back from Ryan before I add anything about it to the wiki post.
didn’t he post a lot of FC? seemed there were always tons of posts in the phase3 thread.. shocked he wouldn’t come over here.. beef with creators or something?
I imagine Ryan will be joining here because he’s the one who told me about this site in the first place. He may just be busy like normal and not had the chance to sign up yet.
The last time the forum software was reaching it’s end of life and the mods spent months trying to get hold of him as he had all the details regarding the forum software license etc… They spent some time making a new FC and that was when The Vapor Asylum came to be. Not sure if it is still alive and kicking though.
He eventually showed up to save the day but it was a huge struggle!

I just went over to the Phase3 website and I see they have a ZXL Wireless on pre-order! I was pleasantly surprised to say the least.
I already have the 14mm and 18mm bowls for it. Just couldn’t help myself and placed the order!!! The only extra item I needed is the 20mm coil. Very affordable, thank you Phase3!! Can’t wait to try it out.
