I currently have the original Ti, upgraded TI, convection and hydro caps. I was contemplating getting another stem. I have the vortex stem. Is it worth getting the heritage stem or just get another vortex stem?
I personally like the heritage stem at night with the hydro and chisel tip.
Vortex function is awesome, but the heritage is super comfortable.

I prefer the Heritage stem with the Convection Assembly because it’s already so smooth to me. IMO, it doesn’t really need the extra cooling of the Ti Vortex, and I feel like the Heritage robs a little less of the flavor.
I also use the Heritage stem with the FW11 because of the airflow valve you can get for it. If you’re getting a Heritage stem, I’d definitely recommend adding the Airflow Valve. It’s really nice to have in certain situations and gives you another way to fine tune the hit that you can’t do with the Ti Vortex. Another good accessory to have for both stems is the high flow intercooler.

How do people use the carb hole on the heritage stem? I use mine with the hydro and compared to the Tempest 2 fluttering the carb hole seems to be doing less for vapor production. I seem to get most out of the Hydro by just closing it off at the beginning of the draw and then opening it when the draw gets more restricted. I still flutter a bit here and there but don’t have any clear strategy.

Yeah I dont need to flutter the airport nearly as much with SS or Convection assembly’s mainly just for cooling the hit when I need too.

How sensitive is the walnut wood of the heritage stem to iso? I don’t clean the wood directly with iso but when I swab the stem inside, some does get on the wood at times. Can this lead to damage over time? I regularly treat it with wood wax, which should also add some protection.
You would not soak the Heritage stem in ISO. I use qtips with iso to clean the lining of the Heritage stem.
