I agree. I love my TB2 and am amazed at the power, flavor, and ease of use. I would love to be one of the 1st ones to try, but $567. ouch.
Thanx for saving the search for me. Pretty pricy
The clumsy shape of the TB2 was a major gripe and they listened and changed it so that’s an easy win. The non-user replaceable battery is a semi-win for me but still an improvement.
Edit: My bad - it seems the battery IS user-replaceable on the Flaske.
I feel that Tafee uses their draw sensor to actively modulate the heater and keep it in that “goldilocks” zone of the level you’ve selected.
Whatever devilry they’re doing, the vapor is always really smooth and tasty. I would say the TB2 is likely the easiest-to-operate portable I have. Load the bowl, push the button and what happens next is always predictable. You can sit down and be vaping within 10 seconds.
Tafee is great but not cheap although so far, they’re solidly in business. I think the Firewoods and Convex2s of the DHV world are nipping at their heels though.
I like your description of “new design hiccups” with first iterations
Par for the course, and I’m willing to pay greens fees to support and encourage dry herb vape innovation and development, even with RMAs in first releases, but I’m nuts of course
I learned from a reliable source, lol, that they’ve been working/reworking Flaske design for a little over three years, even before Bowle V2 development
and, it’s “not perfect”, but that’s expected IMO
I admire Bruno’s vision and dedication. Must be a depressing trip for him listening to Bowle badmouthing. And now, the price point complaints…oy!
Edit: I’m Bullish on Tafée
Not sure if I should be concerned that you’ve heard that it’s “not perfect”. Does that mean in comparison to the TB2 or some new extreme standard?
I think that phrase was Bruno being Bruno, not wanting to toot his own horn saying it’s perfect. At least that’s my glass half full interpretation
Ah I missed shots of your beautiful glass sculptures ![]()
Any idea on how the pre-orders will ship? I think I remember reading in FC the TB2 preorders were shipped express at no additional charge so I just opted for the free shipping. No biggie if I have to wait a few days longer but I was just curious.
Is the current price discounted as a pre-release, or will it be the same price after release? Any heard or seen anything? I didn’t see anything on the website, but I missed the replaceable battery until someone pointed it out.
Current price is the price, it includes the acrylic potter a number of pots as well as some other supplies.
Supposedly there is an undeclared window of time where eligible preorders will include an upgrade to the stainless steel potter and a leather wrap. I have confirmed this is true but eligibility remains unclear to me. Not sure if all orders within the secret window will get these or just orders tied to an insider (bowle owner) account.
I ordered pretty early so hoping to be included, even though I do not own a bowle, as the stainless steel potter helped me justify the price.
The SS Potter is a LOT better than the plastic one. When I got the Bowle they had a “Silver Edition” or something with some upgrades, including the SS Potter. Ironically, in the TB2 I never use it and just repack the same pott as I use them.
Leather wrap, you say?
I sure hope I qualify… leather wrap on that could be sexy AF and would alleviate my scratch concerns if I have it in my pocket with something else. I keep my TB2 wrapped in leather
When I bought the Taffee Bowle 2, I knew it was a crazy/silly price. Still, if mine died I’d be heartbroken. Now, perhaps, I’d look into this well-engineered looking idea. But maybe not. A stick like the Punch 2 and an IH does it for me in 99% percent of my consumption.
Greetings, I love this leather case you have…it is perfect. Where did you get that one?
Cheers,
DrG
It is a treasure pouch from Saddleback Leather Co. I don’t know if they still offer it but they have really nice quality leather and I have most of my travel soft luggage from them.
Really not sure about the mouthpiece situation. I would love a fully Canadian electric device but I have to see reviews of it.
Ordered the second I saw it, getting the potter and the leather will be nice and offset the sticker shock some. Will be my first Taffeé experience.
ill be getting the opportunity to test this awesome vape out… ive been wanting to try Tafee since the beginning, so im pretty excited. cheers!
Any idea on timeline? I’ve already ordered but really want to see some more content on this vape.
