Hello everyone I’m totally new here. I’ve been a long time vaper though, ecig and THC, I gave up combustion a long time ago and fuck that shit.
So the important stuff your all interested in. The Arizer XQ2, EQ, and V-tower mods. All of this can be done with what comes in the box with the XQ2 for $0. However, I do have a couple of very cheap optional extras also that aren’t needed. And I’ve attached pictures below to help with all of this.
The small silicone rings you see are called vape bands, they are used to protect ecig tanks from braking if they are dropped. They came with a DNA box mod I ordered from a U.K based company so this is entirely an international piece 
. Plus the Rebel Vape logo on a dry herb vape… I like it. These can be ordered for less then $1 before shipping, just search vape band.
I also ordered an additional balloon mouthpiece to go on my whip… it’s just more classy this way. As a bonus sliding the black o-rings that come with it down where I did on the elbow adapter helped to give me a bit of a cooler place to grab it. Just a little though.
So, while glass is great for flavor, it’s terrible insulation. Glass is great at absorbing, but also releasing heat. Silicone, makes great insulation, it’s terrible at absorbing heat. So because drawing from the whip is very inconsistent heat, the glass bowl is able to loose a lot of heat and radiat it off. So that on the next draw, a large fraction of the available heat is absorbed by the glass and not the herb to make vapor. Here’s what I did to mine to really take things to the next level.
I use a fine grind from a Kactus Kutter with the small hole grinding disk. And “The Scoop” is great for getting
First, I took the .75 screen that comes in the box and pushed it down into the Flavor Chamber, so that when I use the Cloud Chamber, the screen is directly above but not touching the heating element cover. It also leaves just enough room to feel comfortable about this idea and placing the screen right there. With just a bit of effort it will lay pretty flat in there. I find it best to use my finger and push it in. The screen may press against the side of the bowl, just keep sliding it down, it will slide into place just fine.
Next, I took the Tuff Bowl Grips and turned both them sum’ bitches upside down and slide the top Bowl Grip on to just below and touching the bottom of the flared glass. Next, I placed the vape band on from the bottom and slid the other Bowl Grip on, also upside down. So now I have a basically, a fully insulated glass chamber and the bowl is almost completely covered in silicone except for the glass that is in contact with the element cover. That gets a metric fuck-ton of heat, I’m not worried about it.
I press the bottom bowl grip up just enough to held the vape band snug in place without bulging, it fits extremely well, definitely, however it’s not tight against the glass. The wider ends of the Bowl Grips hold the vape band in place.
Without the vape band this should still work. Slide the top Bowl Grip on just the same. Slide the bottom bowl grip on a little further up the glass bowl. The important thing is to make sure that the built in glass and stainless screens are covered. This is where the glass bowl will radiate a very large amount of heat pulling that heat from the inside of the bowl, because glass inside the bowl is contacting glass outside the bowl.
The final modification to help cool the vapor was installation of the original whip mouthpiece in-line of the silicone tube. Glass absorbs and radiates heat very well acting as a heatsink helping to cool the vapor even more. In turn the silicone whip helps Insulate the vapor with the length of the whip being the only way to help cool it without a bubbler or something else like a longer whip. This is the opposite of what is wanted in the bowl, so I used the materials a little differently.
No electric lettuce in the bowl yet.
I then place the bowl, whip and elbow piece on and let the device heat up to my desired setting, I use 460F degrees I turn the fan on medium and let the device heat soak for just a couple minutes until it reaches full heat saturation. What I mean by this is that where I’m placing my hand in the picture will not get any warmer no matter how long I let the device or fan run unless I turn the temperature up. For the V-tower our lungs are the preheat fan. I’ve tried this and it does work.
Don’t forget to turn the fan off before loading the glass bowl.
I then carefully remove the elbow piece and add my desired amount of Gods Green Goodness. I place the elbow back on and vape away.
Doing this I can sip and I mean sip on about 0.3G for 5 or 6 mins getting monster hits as if I was hitting it super hard. If I really rip on it, I could have the chamber fully vaporized in just a few draws.
