Tempest 2 by Mad Heaters

The new click disks have a fast redo click. I use the cap of the case for cooling and sometimes I’m still surprised at how fast they click. Especially the first one.

This is the vape that has mostly killed my desire to try new vapes. My current go to setup is 3mm 316l stainless and I heat it at 60w for 60 seconds. After a ~10s I hit it at a medium draw strength for roughly 35s-45s with clearing through my sneaky pete highrise bubbler. This allows me to get a full extraction with any bowl setting lightly packed with little to no cough in a single heat and hit. Also because of the extra thermal mass of the stainless you can enjoy it as a sipper with this heating settings also. I’ve also used the stock zirconia media and rubbies and liked those aswell for different reasons.

Hi, thanks for all that great information!

Are there any other US retailers? Scott Vgoodiez only has a bundle that includes the wand (I already have one and would like to trythe YLL. and the bundle is sold out anyway.

Vgear has a bundle with the YLL!

Thanks very much for that great tip!

Vgear had the Tempest 2 and accessories like the reloader and the case. All of the accessories were 20% off when you purchase with the T2. In addition, I found a 10% off coupon at the Vape guy which reduced the cost of the Tempest $20.

Thanks! That’s a great resource that I wasn’t aware of.

The pricing was quite a better at VGEAR this time. I paid $390 for T2, YLL 3.0 and $120 (retail value) of accessories.

Thanks again for the resource.

I’ll be getting the bowl soon.

I’ll be using a custom j hook.

NP! Picked up the T2 and case last week. Hoping to grab the Reload and YLL down the line as well, but am enjoying it with a torch in the meantime.

The price of the reloader made of aluminum, seems rather pricey. The aluminum threads will certainly degrade, causing metal shavings.

Really like the Tempest 2 for its open flow. At the moment filled with rubies. Also made a wooden stem out of briar wood to switch with the titanium

I just received the T2, case and reloader. Wow!

I am an experienced medical user and have tried most of the available portable vaporizers. This is a whole different experience. I am impressed with the heavy hits of course, as well as the ease of reloading and the precision compatibility of the reloader/case accessories. The YLL induction heater works flawlessly. (I use it at 80 Watts and 25 seconds rather than the suggested35 to 45).

Thanks again for a great recommendation!

PS I haven’t tried the Dynavap HyperDyn ball head/cap set up yet and wonder how you think it compares with the T2??

Troy I’m available as a clone as long as a company car is part of the package??

Kidding aside, I’m still really confused about the clicks on this device. I have been playing around with it and in terms of the strength of the hit I settled in at 80 W and 25 seconds. The device seems to click right at 24 or 25 seconds. The 35 to 45 that’s recommended is too close to combustion for me. The references to minutes in this thread have me completely confused. I have not figured out how to adjust the clicks correctly. They do have some good videos on the site, but I wondered what your insider tips might be on this issue?

Thanks!

25 seconds should result in a very low temperature hit. If you’re reaching close to combustion at 35 seconds, please check the cap to make sure you have enough balls installed — even if you’ve never opened it before. There should be approximately 40 balls in total.

The click timing mainly depends on the insertion depth in the YLL. Push it deeper to delay it.

Thanks very much – – very helpful!

Have you tried the Dynavap Ball Vape (hyperDyn THC)?

Thanks for signing up and being a part of this good sir

The THC cap is alright. It requires a bit more thermal energy than the Tempest 2.

It works, but the Tempest 2 was designed around being a Micro Ball Vape. The THC is a bit of a “how do we turn the HyperDyn into a ball vape”

Bigger bowl, so it has that going for it.

I love the Tempest 2. Great hits (after developing a technique to avoid combustion). And it’s so easy to clean. I just tap/blow out both sides for reloads then do a dissemble and ISO the four parts for 30 minutes periodically. And it works flawlessly with the YLL 3.0 induction heater. I don’t use my wand anymore with Temtest or Dynavap.

And based on your evaluation, I’m going to skip the hyperDYN. Thanks!

Love my T2, and the ecosystem that comes with in the reload and case. I like to use the yll IH at 80w for 40 seconds, with the stopper almost flush at the bottom when viewing with the back removed. I also like all air flow options of the T2, I like to keep it completely open at the top and closed at the stem. Cheers all!
