The CouchLog is a high-end, handmade desktop vaporizer that bridges the gap between traditional “log vapes” and modern “ball vapes.” Crafted in Germany, it is designed for users seeking a powerful, efficient, and aesthetically pleasing convection experience that can be used natively or easily adapted for use with water pipes.
Key Facts About the CouchLog
Hybrid Design: It is the first “balled log” vaporizer, utilizing ceramic balls in the heating element to provide the heavy-hitting performance of a ball vape in a compact log form factor.
2-in-1 Versatility: The wooden heat shield is removable, instantly converting the device into a 14mm injector vape compatible with standard glass injector bowls.
Magnetic Stability: Both the vaporizer and its temperature controller feature magnetic cork bases, allowing them to stick securely to metal trays or the included adhesive magnetic discs.
Efficiency: It is optimized for small doses, capable of producing dense clouds with amounts as small as a Dynavap bowl (approx. 0.1g).
Temperature Control: It comes with a matching wooden rotary controller featuring 10 heat settings for precise tuning.
Water Pipe Ready: The included wooden stem doubles as a water pipe adapter (WPA) that fits both 14mm and 18mm female joints.
Dynavap Compatibility: Using provided O-rings, the device can be used with Dynavap tips for a full convection experience through various cooling stems.
Maintenance Note: The specialized screens are small and require frequent cleaning (once or twice daily) to maintain optimal airflow.
Just get the XL, you have more versatility that way. Dial your hits from micro doses of your size preference all the way up through lung busting, face melting nuclear explosions. Flavour will be comparable at lower doses and temps. The XL extends more on the upper end of a session.
I have the XL, not the OG, although I have another regular sized log from a different manufacturer. The smaller heater and bowl is good for stem interfaces when you don’t want to run through water. It is more of a sipper, on a Jhook for instance. The XL Couchlog gives you that and wayyyy more, like the ability to rip wireless. Just get the XL.
I like the design, it’s small, you can hold it in your hand. It looks simple. But what’s the flavor like with the standard mouthpiece, is it harsh? I have a solo 3, how is it like in comparison?
The Couchlog was my first desktop and I have no regrets whatsoever. I bought the Oak and loved it so much that I had to buy a backup in Olive and Grenadil. They’re so beautiful!
Originally I used it as an injector but now I almost exclusively use it with a V1 Convector tip on stems and pipes. That short vapor path, the clean ceramic heater and the little heat battery from the balls work just like a flameless lighter.
When I puff on a stem or a pipe with it, I find it keeps up with my draw and gives me that “cherry on a joint” feel. Puff a bit harder and you instantly get a dense throat hit of vapor. I leave them on 24/7 and do little drive-by hits throughout the day. Couldn’t live without em!
Gonna have to try that convector tip technique. I Run my XL through the connoisseur bowl, short side, then through a TableTop whipped bong. Really cool ‘smoke show’ with this combo. My logs are set up couch side in a nice little convenient vape station. My Couch log is on 24/7 as well and it’s my current favourite desktop. Waiting (patiently) for delivery of a Phase3 ZXL so we’ll see if the Couchlog is dethroned.
Yeah the ConvectorV1 tip fits in CL head almost like it was designed for it. Just pick up the CL and freehand it onto the tip. Feels just like using a lighter and with the CL so close to the load, you get instant control of how thick the vapor just by the strength of your pull.
I also like to rotate the CL or the stem while drawing to maximize airflow all over the bowl. It’s even easy to play with the distance from the CL to the bowl to modulate the temps you want. It tastes freakin’ amazing with such a short vapor path. Like a pure hit off of a joint but all vapor. I keep my dial around 4 for this.
About the ZXL, I wouldn’t be surprised if you find it tastes a lot like the CL XL. The ZX line has pristine taste. I love my ZX and it’s the only ball vape I own.
I am trying to understand you and learn. So you have a pipe with a steel bowl where you put in the herbs and then you use the couchlog as a lighter. So what is the difference with the stock mouthpiece? And with the stock mouthpiece you use it like a stem on the solo 3?
That’s right, with the stock stem it’s also great and works just like a Solo 3. I just like the V1 Convector tip since you can stick it on any 8mm stem or pipe you want and not be tied to the CL bowl that fits over the CL head and doesn’t use an 8mm stem. Also, the Convector tip is a thinner bowl that fits inside the circle on the CL head.
You can use the CL bowl as an adapter to get this to work with Dynavap tips too.
They work great, and I’ll definitely be adding them to the store soon. I’m still figuring out the best way to offer them, as I need to make a small modification to the stem first.
If you’d like your Log or Mouthpiece with the new glass tip option, just send me an email along with your order.
The glass tips work great with both the OG and XL models. The glass mouthpiece will not be available with this option.
