The Volcano Hybrid is Storz & Bickel’s flagship desktop vaporizer, offering both forced-air balloon filling and a direct whip attachment. The Hybrid added conduction heating to the bowl, making this upgraded Volcano extract faster and produce thicker vapor than the Classic Volcano. It also added Bluetooth app control and a precise digital temperature display to the legendary Volcano platform.

I’m 5 weeks in on my Volcano Hybrid. I’ve put about 150 bags through it. This thing is awesome. Very versatile. Bags so thick, I can’t even finish one, to delicious low temp bags, and everything in between.
I haven’t tried the whip yet, but I have family coming for a visit in a couple weeks and I’ll definitely try it then. I mostly use the chamber reducer, so that’s another way to change things up.
My wife isn’t a big fan of the bags, but she never turns one down when I bring one into the living room. The vape unit itself is a desktop, not portable. However, the vapor is very portable! Interesting concept.
There’s so much surface area on a bag, it really cools the vapor fast. I’m enjoying low temp bags in the morning with coffee. Chamber reducer, and I get 3 low temp bags. 356, 360, 375. Very smooth, no coughing, great high.
I use 2 ball vapes and have 2 Venty’s that are really my main drivers. This Volcano Hybrid fills a spot that my other vapes can’t. It’s a totally different ritual. It gets used 5 days a week or so, and I love having another device to deliver vapor.

Anything we should look for in the used market?
Keeping an eye out for a deal around $200 or so as our next adventure evolution.

Had my Volcano Hybrid for just over six months, and it’s filled many a need in this house. Once I got the hang of it, we switched from the OEM / S&B bags to Reynolds oven bags, and S&B dosing capsules (though we sometimes go with a full pack for social sessions).
Our Hybrid is mainly devoted to quick pain relief or the start of a party: to get as much medicine inside of you as quickly as possible without making you comatose.

We now have a repeatable system for that purpose, and it works great.
I recently bought a new dry herb catcher from Sneaky Pete and paired it with a 3D printed whip adapter to turn it into a water-filtered hookah experience.
Although we have portable vapes we use more often, we are so very grateful for the option of the Volcano Hybrid when nothing else will do.
I know that the price point is steep for most, but I strongly recommend saving up those pennies for as long as it takes. This machine might be something you use for the rest of your life.

I broke out that protocol for my wife just last week! Your new bag must be pretty big for all those fill times.
My current protocol still has only three temps, but I also built in hold times at each temp level to help the heat soak a little bit.

I trim as little as possible off of the bags as possible, more for consistency than for volume - yes, they are pretty big. 
It’s a pretty bulletproof protocol, regardless of strain or size of the bowl pack. Yours should be a stock preset, as far as I am concerned.

I agree. I get no use out of the ones they chose. They don’t really work or take advantage of the programming correctly.
Funny thing…almost two years ago Troy and I were partying with some of the S&B crew at Champs and we started blowing up superbags manually because we weren’t on the wifi. It blew their minds. And that blew mine!

The Hybrid is a fucking tank. I was recording the cleaning section of a potv video review and pulled out my screens to find this.
The bottom one was my top screen. I can’t believe how well this vape worked in that condition!

I use the whip mostly and I’m glad I did the upgrade from my perfectly fine Digit just because of the whip. I waited a long time because everyone was saying whip wasn’t that good.I feel that if I keep the temperature at 230°C the extraction is perfect and that the vapor quality is very similar to what the Venty does.
I like bags too but I never messed around with workflows, I use 230°C from start to finish also on bags and I can’t wrap up my mind to think that filling at different temperatures would add anything.
