What is the story or meaning behind your username

Five hundred years ago, in the County of Loon, a local young man fell in love with a Romani traveler from Spain, sparking a forbidden romance. She risked everything and fled her family to be with him, but her brother tracked them down and took the young man’s life. As he drew his last breath in her arms, Sabina took a vow that she would always stay by his side.

Centuries later, a man began having persistent dreams about a woman, feeling an undeniable pull toward a past he couldn’t remember. When he discovered that this woman was his spirit guide, he learned how to communicate with her, changing his life completely. Today, he lives a happy life with a Romani woman, while Sabina - now his guardian angel - slowly, step by step, has revealed the history they once shared and the tragedy that separated them. Sabina kept her vow and never left him. While his body now lives out the life that was once taken from him, his soul remains forever bound to his angel.

This is my story behind my username. Believe it or not, but this is not fiction.

I wanted to pick a dumb name. I succeeded.

I put googly eyes on public things.

I vape.

So..

Also, when I created the username, the Anvil was my daily driver. I consider this one an eyevape, as I get stoney eyes before I’m done hitting it.

It, perhaps unexpectedly, refers to the musical genre of Grindcore which I listened to a lot as a teenager and have used as a username on all kinds of platforms since then. It has never been as fitting as on this site, though.

 It’s 1978 and we’re watching Battlestar Galactica. There’s an episode where one Cylon survivor crashes on a “Wild West” human planet. He’s lost his programming and become a loony gunslinger. The locals call him Redeye. Dented from gunfights and deranged, Starbuck eventually has a predictable high noon shootout with the Cylon. Brother tags me Cmdr Redeye.

Its my old rl-nickname and evolved from my last name. I got that nickname from some old friends during a time at which we were smoking unholy amounts of flower. That time/part of my life was great and I remember it fondly. My life is still great, just in different ways, with more purpose and a healthier mindset overall, but I like to use this username, or variants of it, as remembrance of those days.

Simply put the works of the late great Iain M. Banks inspired the name.

I was thinking of using Dash Riprock, but Crush Hardtack seemed better. No rhyme or reason, just a funny name.

Mine was originally the name of a character I liked from a book series I read as a teenager (reread it recently and it didn’t age well. Also, I was in a kinda dark place at the time if I identified with this character :joy:). When I started playing video games I always used it as my character name. Once I started doing social media (way behind the curve on that) I just kept using it for my usernames.

I enjoy colors and have asked many shops like Simrell, Dan Morrison, Cloud Connoisseur and Lamart about stuff in Rasta or Rainbow colors

Love my hammocks in awesome colors

Mine started out as Cygnusthegodofbalance but I changed it to its current form for ease of use in the community. It was inspired from the Rush Album Hemispheres. During a battle between the followers of the gods Apollo(reason) and Dionysus(love) Cygnus while in search of balance between the two, mystified by the brutality, gave a silent scream that ended the battle with that very silent cry so was named the God of Balance. I have tried to live my life by those guiding ideals of Love and Reason so the moniker fits me personally. The music of Rush was a major part of my lifetime soundtrack and I wanted to honor them a little while also providing me a double entendre. The ironic/Double entendre part in the name comes from way back in 2012. I fell ill with major vertigo, visual and balance issues. After multiple medical visits it was discovered I have Multiple Sclerosis with many grey matter lesions in the brain which primarily affects my balance and vision. When I have a flair up it’s like I’m drunk without drinking a thing along with other symptoms. Hence my first post on this platform was about RSO and asking about potential medical help from the product. I will update that post for what I have found out from personal experience during an exacerbation. So ultimately my user name is both a tribute to some of the most influential music of my lifetime and a big middle finger to the scaring in my brain that has robbed me of some balance! The battle will rage on!

I just used my real first name: Vitolo Vincente DelVecchio.

Friends call me Vito.

I was like 11, brainstorming usernames. Star Wars was still huge at the time, although I’m not a fan of it in particular these days, kinda ambivalent and burnt out. I had a shirt and a hat of the Japanese character/mascot Domo-kun, aka domo, for whatever reason at the time I just thought he was cute and funny.

Thought the alliteration with Darth and Domo sounded nice, and then found my profile pic on Google that matched it lol. simple.

Real name is Levi :face_with_tongue:

Used to use my real surname (which is kinda unique) online but around 10 years ago when I had been part of some silly argument I thought hmm maybe that’s not such a good idea and changed it to “Escobarbarian”, which is an obvious portmanteau from an Earl Sweatshirt song. But everyone in internet spaces just calls me Esco now so if that’s available as a username I’ll take it instead.

I adopted Jojo initially during the mid 2000’s as a high points name in some silly game we played at work on one of the random production floor PCs. Putting my real name or initials seemed like a bad idea.
I pulled Jojo from the Beatles song “Get Back”

Jo Jo was a man who thought he was a loner
But he knew it couldn’t last
Jo Jo left his home in Tucson, Arizona
For some California grass

Once I started using cannabis sites on the internet I wanted to keep those accounts separate from my existing social media name that was based on a high school nickname.

Throughout the night
When there’s no direct light
And a thin veil of clouds
Keeps the stars out of sight

I can smell the colors
Outside on my lawn
The moist green organic
That my feet tread upon

And the black oleander
Surrounded by blues
I’m soon overwhelmed
By olfactory hues

Sabina comes in with a beautiful 500 year old story of forbidden love, reincarnation and a guardian angel… and then there’s me.

ChronicMasterVaper came from “chronic,” because of the weed culture obviously, and a play on “chronic masturbation,”… because apparently my sense of humour stopped developing sometime around puberty. I vape all the time, so it made me laugh and the name stuck.

The funny part is I was actually worry that people think the “MasterVaper” part meant I considered myself some kind of dry herb vaping expert. I absolutely do not. I’m just a longtime enthusiast with an unhealthy obsession, way too many vaporizers, and the maturity of a 14 year old.

So yeah… slightly less romantic backstory lol

Oh god, I knew this day would come. Weeks ago I even thought about starting a thread like this to defuse my embarrassment but I chickened out lol.

So there’s no big mystery behind my name. It’s super juvenile but yeah… it’s a dyslexic play on words that’s an homage to certain female secondary sex characteristics I appreciate. There, I said it. :squinting_face_with_tongue:

Lol, yeah it’s 10 year old humor but it makes me laugh. :man_shrugging:

It reminds me of this anecdote I heard about the early days of radio broadcasts, before they had a 7 sec delay so you could bleep out things you didn’t want to broadcast. It was all done live and some really funny stuff went down where people would get the giggles and couldn’t stop.

This one guy was doing the broadcast and then did a little commercial for Wonderbread during a break and he says “This last message was brought to you by the good folks at Wonderbread. Wonderbread. For the breast in bed.”

And then he proceeds to fall apart laughing on air and had to be rescued by some co-worker after he couldn’t recover.
