peeled this out of the master thread so it can house its own discussion
this is alarming - didn’t Arizer recall the Solo 2 last year?
Yes they did. It was the same issue if I’m remembering correctly
The solo 3 I got from potv during black friday matches the serial number prefix. RIP. Thankfully I got a universal baller now so ill be ok in the meantime.
This is pretty serious. How many people will not see this recall notice??? I got a green one
Mine is a V1 preorder device & it’s not on the list..
I have a green one but I wonder how many units it is or since its just the black ones is it the V1’s or V2 models?
According to this report, it’s approximately 5,000 units with four reports of batteries catching fire or exploding
Damn…spread the word on this so people get replacements.
It’s the Solo 3 V2 Black One
Thats what the recall says yes.
Damn, mine is on the list. I just filled out the paperwork that was attached to my email notification letter about the recall. It had a link to fill it out, so I’m just waiting on verification and instructions for disposing of the unit, I guess.
And lives. limbs and property ![]()
Planet of the vapes just emailed me with links on how to submit the forms and how to proceed. Good on them for getting the info out there.
I received the email this morning that I will be receiving a replacement unit. It says it’ll take 4 to 8 days to process, and hopefully I’ll get a tracking number.
I got my replacement unit today. Very painless process and pretty fast turn around.
I received my replacement Solo 3V2 today. It was such a easy and painless process, I wish all Canadian companies were this efficient and on the ball. Yes, I’m talking to you, Tafee.
I just got my old unit that kept combusting replaced and now seeing that the one they sent me is on the list…
I am asking for a full refund not replacement, will let you know how it goes.
Soo I sent an email to recall@arizer.com with all the information needed and got an email back telling me to send all these details I sent them to a link that does not work OR to email recall@arizer.com with the information…
I just resent the original email and hoping that this is some automated AI mix up.
I must be honest am feeling a bit ripped off as I had to pay already to get my device changed as my old one kept combusting and this one combusts also but I just put that down to it being overpowered but when i think about it none of my other device combust and they go above 220oC that this max out at.
I am pushing for a refund even if it was 2024 I bought this as they are clearly not testing the devices as if they did they would know they combust.
The only way I got the solo 3 to not combust was to use the XL stem and leave a massive space at the top.
From what I remember a lot of people bought the solo 3 then just stopped using it not long after in favour of devices like the angus and other not so popular device and makes me wonder if the fact that this incinerates the bud ahs something to do with that?
Sorry to bang on ![]()
EDIT - ok so they told me I cant get a refund as they are only recalling these devices because there is a very very small chance they are faulty out of an abundance of caution and safety concerns that there might be an explosion.
They asked for my name and address for shipping but did not say I need to send this device back so I have a solo 3 that might catch fire.
I just dont know what to think about all this especially after reading this
Incidents/Injuries:
The firm has received four reports of the battery exploding or igniting.
I have this annoying friend who keeps asking me for a lone of a vape but he wont give me it back so that is where this might go ![]()
I would be careful, while it is a very small chance of anything happening, gifting what is known as a defective device that was replaced might make you legally liable if anything happens to your friend related to it.
I’m no lawyer, and won’t argue law, but I would proceed with caution and possible legal advice from someone that knows laws in your region.
