For those that have purchased “lightly used” devices from reputable vendors what was your experiences?
Do they usually still come with the warranty? If not, I’m not sure saving $30-$50 is worth it. If the device decides to suddenly stop working a few months from now and I can’t get it fixed or replaced I’d rather just spend the few extra bucks and get the warranty.

A friend alerted me to a Reddit post from the actual seller about his TM2 bundle. It was obviously a connoisseur who was selling for a multitude of reasons. Researched the seller by previous posts, totally legit, only one previous sale a few years back, an old S&B device. All good. I wouldn’t just out and buy without deep research. It’s a great TM2 using it right now. Out of warranty but it was obviously well looked after. [This post was edited due to some slang terminology from the UK not going down well Internationally. I never seen much of anyone from the old forum say much bad about buying used devices and that went on a lot over there.
Just depend on how much the device has been used and if it has been handled with care. Also most coil device will last forever so if its a screwball or ruby twist do not worry as they pretty much indestructible.
It is a chance you take but I do not think its that big a chance depending on device and use.
Nothing inherently wrong with used but I never know what abuse a device has had that may not be visible. It also may not perform on par with a new device but I wouldn’t know that unless I had another to SBS compare.
Like… I take extremely good care of my devices but I’ve accidentally spilled water into the heater of my Mighty+ from a shitty POTV bubbler attachment. You would have no idea if you were looking to buy it but I’ll bet that oven isn’t pristine anymore.
For me it’s just a matter of having a 100% known starting condition and full warranty for any defects that may not have come up with the first owner.
I’m not sure if you’re aware but that word is commonly used as a derogatory slur against disabled people.

I’ve purchased used battery portables from POTV, and they’re usually great. The Pax Mini 2 I recently grabbed works 100% but the body is a bit scuffed and the packaging was missing it’s branded outer sleeve. I commented on that and got another $15 off.
Like so many other questions, the answer is “it depends”. Generally when a vender sells something as “used”, there is no factory warranty, but may come with a store warranty. When an item is sold as “open box” and is from an authorized reseller, it commonly comes with the original warranty. Best to simply ask the vendor.
One caveat is eBay: “open box” there is seller defined, and means nothing. Another caveat is Amazon. Even though they sell open box items through their warehouse, the manufacturer warranty likely doesn’t apply based on the words used on the Amazon Warehouse Dels invoice.
