It was mostly below 200 but it happened at 210 and 220 also.
Screens sizes are 16mm on the heater side, 15mm on the bowl side. No problem using oversized screen for a more secure fit or DIY bowl reducer.
WPA prototyping is in the works plus the accesories and parts shop. Just had to deal with the launch and all the customer servicing that comes with that.
Inversion? No inversion needed, my friend.

I was wondering what the actual benefit of the watt mode compared to regular temperature mode. Since I usually like to pack the chamber pretty full, does this mode offer any real advantage for my style of use, or is it better for me to just stick with temperature mode ?

Watt mode would be like manual mode. All gas, no breaks. At a high enough wattage (around 40w depending on draw rate) the only thing that will stop you from combusting is the control of your draw kind of like an unregulated DHV.

Through testing all the o rings i ordered, these seem to work best. They are a slight stretch to fit and hold the pieces together firmly with the only clank sound i hear now if i tap under the bowl area with decent force. The FKM in the same size stretched slightly thinner so that it had a snap connection, but once the two pieces were together it was like the inner wall tapered a bit so it was loose versus when I just pushed the oring past the lip of the bottom piece. Silicone is more stretchy so I think it held the cross section (thickness) measurement closer.
I went one size higher to the 20mm inner diameter o rings and they got damaged when connecting the pieces so they are too big.
If i notice any changes, I will share an update but I’m really happy with the fit of this one after a day. It can also be removed relatively easily, but holds in place much better than the stock one.
Shared with Entheos so they can try testing with this o ring size for the bottom pieces as well but I’m set on spares now. The bag cost about $2 plus shipping for 50pc.

Cool, thanks for posting this. I’m expecting my Convex today so I guess I’ll see what people are talking about regarding the o-ring fit. Any other unboxing advice? I aim to try it first before possibly adjusting the TCR. I guess I’ll keep the temp around 370F as a first guess.

No harm in just trying it as is out the box. My firing button was really difficult to press at first and I wasn’t actually firing it when trying to draw my first few attempts, so if I had realized that I would probably had a better first experience and not reached out to support on Reddit (before I knew this site existed). The button gets easier to push but the plastic is pretty firm out the box. You can feel the click when the button is engaged, but it is subtle versus most my other vapes. I still have problems with it but have gotten better and it’s not a deal breaker for me.
If you don’t get the result you’re expecting on that first use, the first step recommended is to perform the coil reset which is labeled as TCR reset on the Entheos website. I skipped over the autolock part my first time and I think that my mistakes in choosing the wrong resistance partially resulted in my one combustion event (too tight a pack is the other part, I am confident, though), so make sure to do the autolock option and run it when it’s room temp.
By default temp units are set to C so you’ll need to update that if you want it in F. It’s also going to be set to 55w out of the box while 60w is the max power. Entheos suggested setting it to 60w to just get the most ramp up and session power and that’s what I’ve done to great results. There’s a boost setting in the menu that would run the initial power at 60w and then ramp down if you were on a lower wattage setting, but I dunno that there’s really any benefit to doing that versus leaving it at 60w utilizing TCR… leaving at 60w will let it keep up with a more powerful draw better.
When you adjust the temp, you need to press fire to confirm and then it will highlight the wattage. You can adjust that or leave as is and press fire to lock the settings and be ready to use it again.
Have some water on hand! One thing I have noticed is this significantly dries my mouth and throat out versus the TB2 and Frolic. I’m not sure why but it just seems to sap the moisture away.
Lastly, enjoy that wonderful flavor and let me know how you think it compares to your TB2! I was super impressed after I put some fresh stuff in there.

I got mine few days ago. I want to use it a couple more days before i post my thoughts on it, a small comparison vs Convex 1 and my experience with the ordering and receiving process (i.e. my stem is chipped).
Regarding the TCR calibration, in both of them i had to change settings a little bit. But coming from Splinters and Lamart stuff and other vapes like those, I found it quite easy to be honest.

So I got the Convex2 today, cleaned her up, bumped the watts to 60 but kept the stock TCR for the moment. Tried a small bowl at 190C and it tasted good but the vapor was wispy. Bumped it up to 210C and got some tasty vapor.
I’m happy with the maiden voyage and this is a great starting point to tinker from. I find the build ok if not a bit stiff. Feels heavy. I’m not a fan of the fire button yet due to the lack of feedback but I’ll try a few things.

You could try some dry fire first and if the ‘no liquid’ prompt doesn’t show up you could proceed with your initial bowl. From which you can fine tune TCR value. It seems that some buyers were able to use theirs out of the box just fine.
And don’t forget to check on each vapor path component as we’ve had some run in with bad luck with damaged packaging and even parts.

Just put another 2 bowls through it. One with a capsule and one without. This vape reminds me a lot of the Frolic. Huge convection bias and a wide open airflow.
I used an AVLP capsule at 220C and it was the nicest experience yet. The capsule added a nice bit of conduction and some restriction - which I’m discovering is how I like to vape in general now. Powerful convection vapes can be very drying and hard on the throat.
The battery has only lost one notch after 3 bowls and it tastes really good. Very quick to heat and very stealthy.

Im still fighting some hot-spotting in my bowls but i noticed that tamping my loads makes a huge difference in vapor production, i get way better results than just leveling the bud by tapping the bowl.

Do you just compress it a little, or do you compact it?
I noticed this as well that when I tamped the load, extraction was more even. @stickstones I didn’t try compacting the flower a lot, just a light tamp but I think a moderate compaction could work well.
I may stick to using the AVLP capsules because they keep the unit really clean and remove the need for a tool to clean the bowl. I’m noticing the bowl gets sticky easily and the AVB isn’t always easy to just dump out.
The capsule also adds just the right amount of conduction (and restriction) for me. It makes vapor production easier and removes any hotspotting. I’ve also tried compacting the flower in the capsules a lot and it still extracts well.
I am noticing a possible heat issue with the zirconia bowl. It can get uncomfortably hot after a long session. This might be an issue for multiple consecutive bowls.

Hmmmm. Now a bit of conduction isn’t bad. Now I’m thinking a thin steel sheet liner for the bowl with built in screen, that can also become a dosing capsule!
What are the AVLP capsules made of? And could we see how it fits in the convex 2 bowl?
I’ll upload a pic later but the capsules are stainless with a micro-plating of gold. I believe they are 15mm diameter and they fit like a glove in the Convex yet they come out without getting stuck. Almost like they were designed for it. The height is also perfect and the bowl can swing out easily with a capsule.

For those having hot spotting issues still, could you guys trying adjusting the draw style a little, even for those who prefer a sippy style draw.
It might help NOT “controlling” your draw like you would need on most portable vapes. Try to erase the usual “technique” in draw style that most have gotten used to that is needed for most portables. Let me know if that improved anything noticeable!
