Do you remember your first vape high?

I do. After smoking for 50 years (1971-2021), I did lots of research and bought a Pax 3. It got me off combustion easily. Contrary to Reddit, it’s not the worst vape ever made.

Half pack lid, 3rd petal, and I started my first vape session. Very wispy at first, I thought I was doing something wrong. I kept going for a few minutes and it finally dawned on me.

I was higher than shit! I couldn’t believe it. The clear head, I was totally in control of everything, but I was wasted. I loved it. You can get stupid high if you keep going. This changed my life.

My wife of 42+ years is pretty anti-weed, so when I was smoking she’d give me shit if she smelled it. We used to get high together when we were dating, but started having kids right away after marriage, so she wisely gave up alcohol, cigarettes, weed.

Then I handed her the Pax 3. I’ve created a monster. She absolutely loves the vape high! We look forward to our sessions. She has no problem loading, vaping, temp stepping, cleaning, our Venty’s. She won’t touch the ball vapes, and isn’t a fan of the bags,(but she doesn’t turn one down when I hand it to her), and absolutely realizes the medical benefits of cannabis.

T&J have guided me along every step of the way. Every cannabis related thing I have, they’ve owned and/or have reviewed. Everything they’ve said about the products I own is true. They work just like they said they would.

Not kissing ass, just thankful that I have some of the best gear available, and haven’t wasted my money on any junk because of these guys. And all the knowledge was passed on to me for free!

In November 2010, while I was at university (hello I am probably on the younger age of users here!), my friend and I went on a coach trip to Amsterdam. We were already keen stoners by that point - not exactly experienced, but certainly eager - and the first place we went to was Barney’s, where we had heard there was a Volcano on every table. We bought some white widow or something and one of the staff there showed us how to use it and we spent some time splitting a couple of bags. It was definitely among the highest either of us had ever been by that point, truly blissful. I have some pictures of my friend in there where his eyes are so small and so red he looks like an alien. They also had a screen next to our table which was playing a Spike Jonze music video collection, unbelievably perfect accompaniment.

It was still a long time before I quit combustion completely - that took a really long break from weed altogether - but that first time was a truly seminal stoner experience for me. Wasn’t until I got a Mighty in 2015 that I was able to come anywhere close with a vape.

For me it was back in 2013 with the OG Pax!

I was largely a joint smoker with some pipe & bong use mixed in. When I decided to quit combustion I took a month off and then strictly used the OG Pax. It was rocky @ first, ngl! But once you realize a big part of the combustion high was carbon monoxide and other noxious combustion chemicals you appreciate the vape high!

The vape high is less foggy and clearer head yet you’re still high! Also combustion high left me lethargic and tired next day, not a hangover per se but just could tell!

Never going back, no carbon, no black ash everywhere, no yellow combustion film on walls & on tv, furniture and such don’t stink etc., etc.!

I remember it. I’m not sure why I even tried again. It was one of those cheap vapes from the headshop, didn’t get me high at all, and broke in about a week.

The second vape was the first that got me high, but just barely after about an hour of sucking on it. Another “affordable” headshop vape. This one lasted a couple weeks or maybe a month, but wasn’t used for most of that. And stopped charging anyway.

It wasn’t until I finally picked up the Mighty+ that I really got high without lighting up a joint or pipe, I think it was device 5?

Back in 2007, it was a rental lol. Me and my roommate got it from a growshop here in the Netherlands. It was a DIY halogen bulb type vaporizer and it came with a bong. Very similar to the AroMed 4.0

I can’t really remember how good it was. That whole time period is kind of a blur for me…

Yeah I bought a Vapir NO2 in like 2005 or 2006, it would get me a real spacey high that I didn’t really like as much, but I did like that it didn’t stink like smoke. I lost the herb scoop and then packing the right amount was always a little annoying. It made vapor at a slow rate and I just stopped using it after a while. Then I stopped / cut back using cannabis for a long time. I still have the NO2, I took it out of a drawer and cleaned it and it still works. I modified the cap so I could use a glass one-hitter as a mouth piece since the old plastic one was lost, but it still has the same drawbacks.

Then I saw a video of someone taking a bong rip with a dynavap so I went as cheap as possible to try something similar, I didn’t want to spend and then not use it again. I was blown away by how powerful a Vaphit X tip on a WPA through my old recycler was, I remember that first vape high. I’ve been hooked on that style of vaping for almost a year now with no smoking. I quickly upgraded from the Vaphit to a “I’ll think of something” quartz cap, then got the 18mm quartz cap for fun, then the Elev8r. I have to speed run that decade of vape development where I wasn’t smoking much.

For me it was back in 2011 or so. It wasn’t an impulse buy, so I tried to research the best available vapes and I came up with the Solo 1. Luckily, Arizer makes decent vapes so my first experience was pretty good.

I was so shocked at how good the vapor tasted that I never looked back. I didn’t have a monster tolerance back then either so things worked out for me. I do remember having to crank the Solo to it’s highest level (about 210C I think) to get the best effects.

Hot knives back in the 80s! Didn’t even know we were vaping hash at the time but a perfect knife heating led to perfect and massive vaporization of a tiny nerd of hash. First real vaporizer experience came in Amsterdam in 2004 with the Volcanos set up at a few coffeeshops. Amazing experience! Bought a Vapir Air2 that trip but it still took 10 years to quit smoking completely and vape exclusively. No way I could go back now. My vape collection is like 150+. VAStronaut. Have converted quite a few to the joys of herbal vaporizers.

I don’t remember the high but I do remember the taste. I never heard about vaporizers and a friend made my try, I think it was an arizer desktop. The taste was so good, not long after I switched completely

Mine was with the arizer EQ bag system and it felt like I was inhaling nothing compared to combusting and I never ever went back to combusting after it feeling so smooth and fresh.

See I am into the gym and keeping healthy and all the combusting I was doing was counter intuitive to that and that is the main reason I fell in love with vaping.

I did not smoke tobacco and am sure that is why I just switched to vaping and never looked back once time.

Solo 2 I was very fortunate to stumble across Troy on YouTube quite a few years ago. I used to watch one more bowl on Wednesdays.

I remember clearly back with my first vape a XMax V2 pro. I was very excited for that first try after a couple burn off cycles. The flavor from the bud knocked me off my feet and it was love at first drag.
