I can also say that gold plated capsules are worth it and I really enjoy the Airvape Legacy Pro (AVLP) capsules. I don’t perceive any muting of taste and I find them durable and easy to load.
This keeps the vape clean and adds a nice bit of conduction without sacrificing space really since the top is open.
Not for the Venty but I love the glass capsules that come with the Angus Enhanced V2. They may the best capsules I’ve ever encountered for conduction and flavor.
The gold plated ones are so much better for taste and performance.
As for the debate are dosing capsules good - well yes I feel they are but it depends on device. Like for the Mighty+ I always use them but not for other vapes.
I feel like you need to draw more slowly with the capsules and let the whole cap heat up slowly then do a big pull.
They look nice. I don’t have a Venty but I’m pretty sure they’ll add a nice bit of conduction to your sessions if you’re willing to lose a bit of space in the bowl.
I never tried capsules without the cap, more space and a tiny bit more airflow I suppose , must try it once. Are they the same size as the mighty ones?
Yes, it works well for convection biased devices allowing better airflow. I don’t own Mighty capsules so I can’t compare but I think the AVLP capsules are a bit wider and flatter. They fit snugly in bowls that are 15mm diameter like the Frolic.
So I tried your idea, I filled it up real good and kept the top of the capsule open. I got rewarded with thick satisfying vapor, very good flavor and good airflow.
Those arrived today. Not sure whether I notice much difference with the taste but I like how sturdy and easy to handle they are. Heat up takes a tiny bit longer but the sturdiness is worth it. The capsule caddy is also great. Unlike what is shown in the pictures on their website and unlike the blue S&B caddy, the bottom can be screwed off, which makes handling used capsules much more comfortable.
glass capsules Got here for the Venty a little tricky to load into Venty itself since it has no lid. And Small mouthpieces are a waste they are too long to fit inside the S&B Cooling unit.
I’ve seen stuff about difficulty opening s&b caps and even seen products with design features for prying them open. But I’ve never seen anyone mention the way I do it. It takes a couple seconds but it has a low manual dexterity requirement and is reliable. Obviously it’s not as easy with a hot capsule but with something heat resistant and grippy you could still do it
I just hold the capsule at the base, so I can keep it secure without flexing the upper part. That would cause the friction fit of the cap to bind. Then I just use my fingernail to pop open the cap. It won’t work the first time. Your nail will pop off. Just rotate it a little and try again. It’ll feel like you aren’t getting anywhere but after 4 or 5 tries it always pops open for me.
If you open the capsule while it’s still warm it usually opens easy. I have lost a few, but at the price for S&B capsules I don’t really care. Some of the other brands like the POTV dosing caps bothered me when they got trashed.
