DV8 by BMIC & Boundless

This thing came out several years ago - does anyone have any experience with it?

From the Boundless website:

We teamed up with Vape Industry Leader, BMIC, to bring you DV8. Combining their heavy-duty yet sleek with our temperature-control technology, they deliver an advanced vaporizer like no other. Equipped with an innovative heating system and proprietary ceramic chamber, it guarantees even heat-distribution which ensures optimal THC extraction while preserving the flavors of the Terpenes. A user-friendly interface offers convenience and efficiency.

Quick tips for optimal vapor/flavor

  1. Our personal sweet spot is around 425-435°F
  2. Long-slow pulls are more optimal than short-fast ones and will produce more vapor
  3. Wait 20-30 seconds to allow the oven to be filled with hot-air before vaping

It’s a HEAVY vaporizer so i’m not sure if its portable or desktop.

I actually have one of these somewhere, but it’s not on my display shelf - it should be though!

I got this one a couple years back from Boundless. It’s a pretty good hybrid DHV. Vaping it around 430 was the sweet spot for me. Could get about 5-6 good rips on a bowl. The mouthpiece took me a bit to get used too, but the zirconia kept it cool. I remember there being a slab of silicone under the mouthpiece piece which was used to cool the vapor in its own path. Not very well designed there. Surprisingly, it did not effect the flavor too much. I really like the solid stainless steel casing, which gives it a sleek, stealthy look. Definitely is very weighty, which makes it easier to carry in a handbag/backpack. Everyone I had shown it to at the time thought it was a cigarette case with a 510 cartridge. The only downfall was the removable LiPo batteries they use. I could get about 35-40 min on a full charge. However, on the upside it would charge a dead battery up within an hour. It sucked that I had to charge all the batteries in the device itself since I couldn’t find a charger for them. I don’t think it’s a proprietary battery, so maybe a charger does exist somewhere. For $100 I would definitely recommend it. Although it looks like a novelty vape, it definitely performs way above its price of around $100. I never used those cheap aluminum dosing capsules they came with, as I am mostly a chamber guy. I am going to look for this one in the cabinet tonight. I think its been over a year since I last used it. I used it quite a bit after I got it, but since I always test new vapes they end up getting forgotten after awhile. If all my dry herb vapes came to life like Toy Story characters, they’d really fucking hate me. Thanks for taking me on a trip down vape memory lane. It’s nice to see a post on this vape because it never got the credit it deserved in my opinion.:+1:
