Looks like the bakx setup. Also abv is spot on with the bakx.
A tolerance killer with this bowl size, connected on an outlet.
Imagine it like this:
You pull a vacuum and seal the chamber (~30% of atmosphere left). That empty space is for whatever leaves the flower — terps, some cannabinoids, moisture — instead of drifting off like they do in an open-air vape.
After the soak you’ve got a small box of leftover air, moisture, terps, and some oil. Nothing that already came off has escaped. It’s sitting in the deadspace on purpose.
First draw isn’t a straw that empties the glass. Fresh air comes in, mixes with what’s already in the box, and also passes the flower, so you pick up more on the way. You get the dense collected mix plus a bit of live convection — not 100% of the headspace in one slurp.
So hit one is the loudest. Maybe on the order of 10–20% of the terps that are going to come off that session, plus whatever heavier stuff the heat and airflow are starting to move. Hit two takes another slice of what’s left in the box and what’s still on the flower. Each pull dilutes the deadspace. The exact split needs a real test; those percents are just a picture.
The oil itself doesn’t need a bag. If you could squeeze it off the bud and turn it into a gas, it’s only a few tens of milliliters. A 1.2 g load’s cannabinoids are about 25 mL as a gas. Every vape or bong hit, including this one, is mostly a big stream of air with water vapor and tiny a volume of actives. If the hit was 100% actives, it would be too harsh. I created a chamber that was 2X larger when prototyping and it did feel a little too harsh
this is fascinating, thanks for sharing your insights
does this work with concentrates or hash, too?
Thanks again for the details. I never thought about the volume of vapor without air present.
Is the ForgeHaven capable of a one hit extraction under vacuum at higher temps?
That would make it much more use full for my style of vaping.
Ok this makes sense now to me. If the chamber is designed in such a way that the good stuff in there escapes slowly during your session, I get it.
Here’s where I’m still a bit skeptical about potential flavor differences between other vapes.
For hybrid vapes like the Mighty or the solo 3, I totally agree that all those great volatiles can be lost while your vape heats up. I don’t see that issue being valid for pure convection vapes or ball vapes though.
If you clear a bowl in a single draw with a ball vape, you’re getting all the volatiles and taste in one blast. There’s no pre-heating stage where stuff could be lost. I do agree perhaps the vapor/air ratio might not be as good as your system but I guess tasting is believing.
Now I better understand why you have such a big bowl. Where your system hopefully shines is spreading great taste over a long session. I’m curious now.

I havent tried it with anything but dry herb but I can probably stick a steel mesh in there to hold the concentrates. Ill play around with it an let you know.
Im not sure if it will be great for that but possibly. Its tough to heat the middle of the herb without some convection. Probably more likely to need a few puffs to get 100%
Hey guys…I’ve had a few sessions on this thing, including one with the maker, and I think this conversation needs a reset. This vape is a beta product with experimental new tech, and currently doesn’t work like anything you’d expect. It takes a huge load and slowly releases it over minutes as barely visible vapor. Big rips aren’t here…it’s a long, slow sipper.
What’s exciting to me is this product proves that @ForgeHavenVape can make a well-built product, and that we can vaporize at lower temps in a vacuum. I’ve dreamed of vaping with pressure/vacuum for a while, with no idea what to expect.
So we will see where this tech goes, and hopefully it’s to something crazy, new and amazing, but we’re not there yet. It’s not going to replace anyone’s ball vape.

I would argue this isn’t a beta test and that is the finished product.

Well, so much for my earlier response. Thanks… your feedback after testing is both encouraging and discouraging for this one I think… curious what anyone else who shelled out for it thinks. The cool factor is definitely there but if we really are talking beta at that price point I only see the cost increasing to get it up to par with what you are talking about and I worry that makes this not a viable option in general.
Not sure why the quote isn’t formatting correctly but it doesnt seem to like copy quote right now on my phone.
Hey Jerry, thanks for testing and clearing things up.
Did you already compare the device with and without using the vacuum to see if there is a noticeable difference in flavor?
Is the vapor production not just a matter of increasing the heat?
I’m reading “beta” for vapor output, but how are the effects of what’s being produced?
Maybe we don’t need huge clouds, just the good stuff would be enough.
Don’t get me wrong, cloud chaser too, just thinking outside of the box.
As currently configured, once you crack the seal on the vacuum to get to the goodies, the magic release is finished and it continues as a convection vape, but at a very low temp (140C) that doesn’t contribute much. That low temp only vaporizes wth the vacuum.
I am looking at this as emerging tech that could take us somewhere we’ve never been, but it’s just getting started. We’re way outside the box here. Like I said earlier, I’ve dreamed of using pressure and vacuums to vaporize, but never seen it. This makes it real, but we have a ways to go!
Almost like it needs a boost mode on the heater for post vacuum performance.
yes, if we want to make this into something we already have. I have always thought we could release something better than what we have now if we can do it at lower heat. Then the challenge becomes delivery…how do we capture everything in a vacuum and deliver it without loss?
@stickstones, thank you for the call and the honest review! I learned a lot talking to you and it’s definitely sparked some ideas. Especially, knowing that people want smaller bowl sizes and 1.2g is way too much (please people chime in with your preferred bowl size). Smaller bowls actually make the problem easier. I will increase the maximum heat settings for those that want more of that high temp ball vape experience, although I think where ForgeHaven shines for me is an easy going lower temp sipper
One mistake I made is not calling it a beta. I think Jerry is spot on. He is the very first person besides me to try this device. So, for everyone in the forum, I have enough parts for (4) more units, then I will need a about a month to restock long lead parts. I will offer a discount for the remaining beta units for forum members. 25% off Discount code: Founder2026. $600 is the price I plan to settle on after some trust has been built.
The ForgeHaven is a thermodynamic catch-22: the 15-minute low-temp “vacuum soak” at 130°C strips off the volatile terpenes without reaching the heat needed to extract active cannabinoids, completely separating flavor from effect. The moment you pull on the mouthpiece, ambient air rushes in and instantly cancels the vacuum anyway, leaving you with an underpowered, flavor-stripped convection oven. To get any actual cannabinoids out of that desiccated load, you have to crank the heat back up on flower that has already lost its native terpenes, causing the session to bypass the sweet spot entirely and transition straight from flavorful air into harsh, toasted popcorn fiber.
I still think the idea might be valid, the temperature is just way to low.
What is the maximum temperature that the device can handle?
While thinking about the concept, i was wondering if an over pressure during the heat up might be beneficial. Like decarbing in a sealed jar preserves the terps, to then extract all at once.
I think maybe if you raise the temps a bit and reinstate the partial vacuum in between hits, you might be able to preserve the best taste over a short session.
Since taste is so subjective, I’m not really sure the taste difference would be noticeable compared with say, a ball vape tasting session at lower temps. Maybe they taste similarly but the good taste lasts longer with the partial vacuum.
Only one way to find out.
As for bowl size, I’d say a maximum of 0.3g would satisfy most people but performance shouldn’t degrade with smaller bowls if possible.
Regarding bowl size 1.2 is more than a standard joint….I try to stay in the .05 to .2 per hit range.
