Nope, plastic jar. But the zirconia mouthpiece acts like a wrecking ball to those delicate fins. Lesson learned.
Can’t believe nobody has mentioned the Punch 2 for conduction. Love mine. I made my own SS FMJ for it and I get a huge OHE through my Chugga Jug 2.0.
Looked it up… very interesting! With things moving so quickly in commerce and regional innovations, it went under my radar for sure!
Admittedly I felt that it was re-invented current technology, but that does not in any way sully my view and interest to hear more from our members that might be in the know. I appreciate the reference without doubt.
The Punch 2 is nice, but to me it feels like the “lesser” version of an Anvil or Tornado. It is also much cheaper, which is definitely a plus in this case, because the quality of the material and craftsmanship seems good as is. Everything is just “less”. It has less heat retention, meaning most of the time you need two to three heat cycles to cash a full bowl. You have to clean it more often because of the intricate airways. It doesnt fit too well on 14 mm glass, 10 and 18 is fine, but I have mostly 14, so I had to buy an adapter.
There are a few upsides as well though. The titanium makes it taste better and if you are a chain-vaporor its actually a plus that it heats and cools so quick, meaning you can quickly pack it again and go.
I personally would say, if you are tight on money, then its a great device. If you can afford more expensive stuff, then I think there are “better” options.
I totally agree with the negatives you pointed out. My main glass is 18mm and so the Punch fits tightly but it does not fit well in my 14mm. I was initially disappointed with the heat retention, but that was completely solved when I made my own stainless steel collar. That was a game changer.
