I ground up a small amount of 8 different strains noticed the flavor was better and smoother than any one of the strains by themselves. Has anyone noticed this?
I don’t know if I can say I’ve experienced that in particular but I’ll often mix blends of strains I think complement well flavor wise.
I like to do it with more of the fruity or candy strains though.
I have done this on and off again over the years with the various HG strains. A blend can often be a nice change and add to the experience.
I mix strains all the time. Changes flavor and potency. So-so weed gets a splash of top shelf if necessary.
Usually i prefer the taste of a strain or phenotype by itself. Sometimes i mix two different ones with intention. If i like the mix, i usually reverse one plant by using nano silver and pollinante the other plant to get feminised seeds. Sometimes i go one generation further to find some nice recessive trades. I know its a long process but i think it is worth it if you have two things you really like and think they belong together.
Usually i don´t mix more than two strains at the time because i noticed that i don´t enjoy the flavor as much. Except for traditional style aged hash, there i really enjoy a good mix of different chemovars.
I don’t mix often, but sometimes mixing a lesser weed with some good one can give unexpected results, flavor wise and effects wise.
I have noticed mixing strains switches things up a bit, but so does switching glass, vapes, method of consumption. The same strain in a salve is different than inhaled. It doesn’t take much to switch things up, and it doesn’t hurt none, so why not?
