Does this do a fair bit of cooling? Is it aluminum?
Yes and yes 
works well.
Grabbed the “Dedge” razor holder(Left). Ended up modifying it with a metal liner on the inside and a Storz & Bickel cap wedged at the bottom with a chunk of solid steel as heat sink. Joystik & Armoured Cap fit like a glove, Nado & Verdavap 1.5 were too big so I made a wider version. Middle one is layered Aluminium & Steel pipe with a Brass sleeve and fits the Nado & Verdavap with a couple mm of room. One on the right is a small Dynavap heatsink I made as my first attempt. Didn’t want to pay an obscene amount for a Simmy heatsink and it works just as well
