How do I know when to stop vaping (so I don't vape only plant matter)

After 10 years of vaping I still struggle with when I have to stop vaping. I know at a certain moment all the good things are gone and you start vaping plant matter or reclaim.

I notice at a certain point my vape feel a bit more restricted, like the air holes get clogged. Is it this moment you have to stop or is this the sign it’s almost done? Do I have to stop the moment it feels more restricted or can I finish my draw?

What’s your opinion or how do you all know when to stop vaping?

Personally? I vape until i feel it starts to taste bad. Usually i can get a good take on when that is for each device owned.

It’s personal preference to be fair.

Until I’m coughing too hard from the taste, usually.

Or I get tired of it lol

It’s all about the taste for me. As soon as I start to pick up the sour note I’m done and clear it. I know I’m not completely extracting each bowl but the majority of the good stuff is gone and bad flavor staying on my palate afterward affects the effects.

I vape until vapor now longer is visble. If a vape is strong enough to go further, when I taste a non-cannabinoid flavor like burnt popcorn, the load is dead to me!

I stop at the first hint of harshness that indicates the first shift from terpenes to roasted, toasted grain, the popcorn taste

I usually vape until the vapor doesn’t taste good anymore. I’ll also stop if the vapor gets really thin or stops altogether. Ultimately the reason I stop for any given session is due to whichever of these above conditions happens first.

I generally know I could get more vapor if I raise the temperature, but from experience I know the max temp I like for each of my vapes.

Some differences in the quality of your weed and its moisture can shift the ranges a bit, but not usually too much if your sources are reliable.

I feel lucky that I can access and afford good quality flower, and taste means a lot to me. Sometimes, the hits from a session taste so good that I’ll stop the session early because I don’t want to ruin the ride.

I love it when a great taste and smell lingers in your mouth and nose. For me, this feeling is one of the top things I enjoy about vaping.

I’m a full extractor. I vape until there’s no more vapor. Dark AVB (*“Dark DUB” in my language hehe).

For me also, when I start coughing it’s done

Keep vaping until there is little to no vapor left. The color of the AVB is not a reliable indicator of whether the herb is fully spent; darker AVB mainly means it was exposed to higher temperatures.

Indeed, better stop when it’s not tasting bad

For me too, but I try to finnish just before that, but it is hard to find that moment and don’t waste to much

That’s a good broad indicator I will keep in mind

When vapor starts to thin out, it’s just about over, for my Venty.

Ball vapes are 1 hit and done or 1+ depending on the vape.

Volcano Hybrid for me is 3 bags with the chamber reducer, and low temp. 356, 365, 375. I could get more from this, but this is as far as I want to take it. This is pure pleasure for me. Absolutely delicious, cool, potent bags.

Thank you all for your opinions, my conclusion, I sometimes vape to long. When the taste is gone or vapor is thin I will stop from now on.

I tend to be a creature of habit.

With the TM2 or the CH F22 ball vape with Ed’s TNT microdose bowl, I repeat the same pattern.

1/4 tsp or 1.25 ml scoop will yield approx .1 G’s of herb.
With the ball vape through water it’s one and done. No burnt taste.

With the TM2 it can be 3 “sips” or a cloud and a sip or one Big Cloud (usually with Bong) again, no burnt taste.

TLS (taste like @hit) is a no go for me…

 Great topic. When I can’t see any vapor in exhalation is when it’s beat… Taste change to organic/popcorn.
