The IO Hornet has been a great addition to my vape rotation! And my first vape in the desktop ball vape category. The integration with my Dynavaps is a plus for me; It’s lovely to go back and use some of my favorite Butane vapes with the IO Hornet and the Micro dosing is wonderful. All three bowls that come with the IO Hornet are excellent, they each offer a unique vapor profile in my opinion. Although I mostly micro dose, this IO Hornet can chunk major clouds and Twaxing on the conduction bowl is very nice indeed

I still remember hitting the Hornet for the first time off the conduction bowl it came with and wondering what kind of magic was in this little head that sat me down into a chair for 15 minutes.

That little bowl also holds DynaVap tips as a WPA.

I tried these stainless steel screens that I picked up from Amazon.
Not a fan. They restrict the airflow too much for my liking.

I also got a 200 pack of standard mesh screens for $4.

I’ve tried those and similar screens. The best is still the mesh IMO. I might make a few debowlers like the ones that I’ve been using. The tip design really keeps those screens a lot cleaner. It scrapes and covers more surface area on the screen than a poker.

I’ve been torn between that and the ZX bowl lately. The airflow difference is quite amazing and that bowl adds a sort of “bite” to the experience.

So I picked up a lightly used Hornet recently. Normally I wouldn’t buy a used vape but this one had no electronics or anything that could FU. The ad said scratches were visible on the body but turns out it was just the light patina that was scratched. A buff with Emory cloth made everything look like new again. The included accessory bags weren’t even cracked open so all bowls were new. Very happy with this score!

Particularly impressed with the ability to use DV bowls with the Hornet. Great reason to dust off multiple DV tips that have sat on the shelf for a few years. The ability to Twax every bowl configuration with ease is a huge plus for me. I’ve used a 25-16mm adapter on my 25mm coil and it works good although I’ve read a proper 16mm coil is an even better experience, allowing for lower pid temps and quicker reheats.
Great addition to the rotation and I suspect it will be there for quite some time.
