I get asked this a lot - so I wanted to start a thread and gather community input.
The Might OG came out in 2014 and was the #1 best protable vape for nearly 10 years. The Mighty+ is basically the same vape with a few great improvements.
BUT its $340.
It’s 100% worth it, don’t get me wrong - but for $40 more you can get the Venty. $60 more you can be riding a Frolic.
We’re stuck in the weird space where S&B continues to sell these vapes because the mass market is still buying them.
But in the cutting edge of portable vape performance, the Mighty+ is no longer a top tier device - yet it still carries a premium price tag.
In decades past the stagnant vape scene allowed this to exist, but the scene is moving.
Where does that leave the Mighty+? Is it still a good choice?
I still take out the Mighty+, even though it’s parked maybe 6 inches or less from the Venty, Solo 3, FW9, FATx, TM2, and TB2. It’s used often enough that I would be really sad if anything happened to it, but honestly, I think all of the S&B products are over priced in today’s market, but the way some of the new prices are going, the market might be catching up with pricing seeing the price tags on some of the new devices. I doubt I would replace mine though unless I found a hell of a sale.
I have both the OG Mighty and the Mighty+
I love both of them, but have yet to really put the Mighty+ through heavy usage.
The OG Mighty works so very well, that I am guilty of pushing it to see it “take a licking and keep on ticking”!
I kind of have been keeping the Mighty+ in reserve for if the Mighty slows down in its current productive level of work.
I also own a OG Mighty and a Mighty +. They’re 3 and 4 years old now, but both work great and I still get 7 bowls per charge on each. They’re tanks.
Then came the Venty. It’s just better at everything. Is the Mighty still worth it is a good question. It’s a great vape, but if you can scrape up another $40.00, you’re getting more than your moneys worth.
If the Venty turns out to be as durable as the Mighty’s, I don’t see any reason to keep the Mighty. I use 2 Venty’s daily, and had E04 on my first one after 17 months/180 hours. They sent me another one no problem, they didn’t want the old one
My Mighty+ was the first device I got when starting back into all this after many years off due to job requirements. It medicates consistently well and still tastes great for at least the first half of a session… I loved it and still use it from time to time but for me I found quickly I didn’t like session devices as much. I might, but I never have enough time to really enjoy that. After getting newer devices that heat up much faster it gets harder to reach for it even on a whim.
It’s the opposite of a stealth portable as well. If I only knew that before buying it I could have saved myself so, so many lectures on the smell. It has ambient smell, smell you can’t just mute with a filter when in use, and has to be stored in a smell proof bag for continued discretion.
@Crush-Hardtack … I’m with you on the concept, but the function that I enjoyed prevailed.
The question here was, I realize whether the Mighty+ still worth it. I vote yes for my personal use. Part of that relates to the patients that I work with. I did like the Venty, but never really experimented with the venting system.
I no longer have the Venty in my possession, as I had many vapes, and there was a patient here that really liked it.
I got my Mighty + for about $320.00, and my OG Mighty for about $260.00. Both on sale at POTV. They don’t offer the OG Mighty anymore. If they dropped the sale price to $260.00 on the Mighty +, I’d say it’s definitely worth it. And then drop the sale price to $320.00 on the Venty, and we’re good in my opinion. I don’t think the Mighty + is worth $320.00 anymore with the Venty so close in price.
I have all the different ball vapes and most decent portables like the TM2 etc but I still use my Mighty+ for material that has not been cured great and has a bad taste as it seems to work much better than my other vapes and make it not taste as bad.
I mean the flavour from the Mighty+ is not the best but it seems to make even the worst tasting material taste and vape ok.
I would not use it apart from this and when I had COVID I used it a lot as its a lot easier on the mouth and throat than my other vapes.
I would not recommend it and to answer the question being asked - NO it is not worth it and should be costing £100/$132 less than it currently costs.
I still use my Mighty plus a lot, and I like it because it’s so easy on the throat and has a good taste. But the price new is to high, for just a little bit more you have a Venty.
@Sabina - I think you hit the Key. If we ignore the price and JUST look at performance, I would say the Mighty+ is still in “top tier” category, but for a little bit more you get the Venty? To my tastes, the Venty is MUCH better vapor than the Mighty+. I pick up my Mighty+ at least as often as the Solo 3.
I picked up a really clean gently used mighty+ because it was a really great deal … I have been carrying it regularly and i love how it preforms. I dont know if i would love it at full price but if you can get it for a deal it really delivers delicious vapor
I dont intend to get a bunch of portable vapes (key word is intend) so im glad the one im rolling with it fantastic
You start real low , boost to 180 for the morning I can imagine. And indeed a clean mighty taste very good. I like it in the evening before I go to sleep because it’s so soft on the throat. But you made me curious, I’m going to try it once
