Shattered my ash catcher from M&M and went to replace it. Met with an error 1001. Tried to go around but the best I came up with was a possible wholesaler on Meta. $200 minimum order and you may need a tax number to complete the transaction. Really like their glass and how it performs. Noticeable difference from the cheap glass. If anyone knows a retailer who carries their products or any info on whether they are still in business or not.
Is down for me as well and checking around I see no one saying they are out of business btu at same time not much talk about them for a while and all the social media pages are all out of date so.
I did a search of similar sites and found this
Not sure if its the same quality you are looking for but worth a look just in case.
I hope you get this sorted and do not need to pay too much bro!!
Thanks for the links. Thick was the first place I checked. May try some retail establishments but where I live they are weird. Every cannabis related product you can think of but it’s all for nicotine consumption. Called me a pothead when I made a phone inquiry! True but not relevant to the conversation we were having. Was looking for a ball vape accessory and after explaining what a ball vape was she stated “that’s some pothead shit” and hung up. They carry everything but ball vapes. So condescending and dismissive.
M&M Tech have sturdy glass. The one that shattered survived the granite countertop bounce but gave it up after landing on the metal stovetop afterward. Broke the rule of glass cleaning and cleaned outside the sink.
Edit: The Tako site has what I need. Ease of cleaning is a big deal and they have the clear simple set ups. Thanks again!
Proving difficult to find what I want in 18mm that is in stock. Check the description on this one
Right below the description is a disclaimer of sorts. The one you get may not look like the one pictured. $45(US) roll of the dice. There is always ROOR and the ensuing buyer’s remorse!
I asked the chat about the disclaimer and got this reply.
Hello! I’m Tako, here to help from Tako Glass. When you see the phrase “I have a few of these. The one you receive may not be the exact item pictured,” it means that each item is handmade, so there are slight variations between each piece. While the item you receive will be the same style and function as the one shown in the photo, it might have small differences in color, shape, or detail, reflecting its unique craftsmanship.
Many of our glass pieces are artist-made and one-of-a-kind, so every customer gets something truly unique! Would you like to know more about this product or see information about other pieces we offer?
I do not want to tell you to go for it but at same time if it is hand made you would expect some small variations. Would be good if they posted one of the pictures of them all together as then you can see.
I figured that was what was meant but in this current state of scam it’s always a question when any ambiguous disclaimer is made. I have thoughts of a printed picture of the ash catcher instead of the real thing, like a Temu product. So many out of stock listings.
Those swiss perc ash catchers are all over DHgate, I almost ordered one with a j-hook but went with a different small rig. I would be surprised if he’s not reselling Chinese made glass for this particular product, although you can see them making all sorts of pipes and bongs on their Instagram.
It’s tempting to buy one just to see how it works.
The M&M ash catcher is a robust thick glass piece that could take some abuse. I have a water pipe from them that is my daily driver. They paired well and the other catchers do not have the same airflow and it effects the taste. Vaping a cultivar called lost cause that reminds me of super silver haze, the taste is amazing. Miss the catcher already.
This one looks robust but is expencive.
Went with some catchers from freeze pipe.
I prefer clear glass, preferably Boro so I can use boiling water during clean up. Less likely to fracture or break. Able to use the hot water to initially loosen any debris and then use iso in the heated glass which gives it a little more cleaning power when warmed. Boiling water rinse cleans out the iso.

I ran across this and wonder if it has something to do with it… from April of this year. Apparently they were facilitating unlicensed foreign money transfers.
When you run your business out of your mom’s basement these things happen. A little money laundering, tax evasion and questionable purchases (arms?) can make book keeping a nightmare.
That’s a lot of legalese with a lot of accusations. Wonder if the state confiscated his inventory and would they sell me an ash catcher?
It is funny how when this thread was made and I askjed AI
why did M&M Tech glass out of business glass go out of business?
and I got back the reply saying that there is no sign of them going out of business.
But today when I asked the same question I got back this - basically what we saying in this thread.
M&M Tech (known for scientific and artistic borosilicate glass water pipes and percolators) has not published an official, definitive public statement announcing a permanent corporate closure, but customers note their official website has gone offline and social media channels have sat dormant, pointing to a quiet shutdown or severe wind-down typical of independent headshop-glass brands facing online payment processing hurdles and shifting retail markets. [1, 2]
Signs of Business Discontinuation
- Inactive Channels: Official web domains return connection errors, and social media feeds (like Instagram and Facebook) have stopped posting new product drops. [1]
- Retailer Scarcity: Standard smoke shops and online distributors report being unable to restock signature M&M Tech pieces or replacement parts like ash catchers. [1]
If I ask the question in a few days will they then say what @McScruffy posted?
AI will probably update once they formally announce closure. Guessing they circumvented some payment laws. Wonder what they were doing? Does that mean my water pipe is a collector’s item? What a rabbit hole!
M&M Tech carved out its reputation in Southern California by prioritizing laboratory-grade engineering over trendy headshop aesthetics, constructing clean, heavy-duty pieces with high-purity Schott DURAN borosilicate tubing.
Today, anyone can easily replicate or even exceed that classic M&M Tech standard simply by commissioning a local scientific glassblower to fabricate a piece using heavy-walled, certified 5–7mm Schott DURAN or Pyrex stock.
I’m trying to get a boro adapter made to mate the filling chamber from my old Volcano so it sits firmly atop the hybrid. And I have an old M&M catcher that had a crack in the support piece of the arm. Did not affect performance but I replaced it anyway. Maybe that might be a big enough job between the two of them. Honestly tried some glass blowers but I do not think the jobs are worth their time. They are making expensive pieces so you usually don’t get any return texts or calls. If you know anyone or can recommend someone that would do a job like this. Several people are interested in the adapter for their Volcanos. Could order a half dozen at least.

I buy my cloud buddy and stem adapters from them. Don’t think they do catchers. Did try to ask them about the filling chamber adapter for the Volcano through Vape Asylum A while back but never got a response. We were not sure if they were buying wholesale or actual glass blowers.
I’ve found it very difficult to get anything made by glassblowers. They don’t really want to get out of bed for less than $250-300. One company sold a downstem with a honeycomb tip for $36 that I was considering using in a project, but I was planning to cut the ground glass joints off. I contacted them directly to ask if they would sell just the tube with honeycomb tip and they wanted $60+shipping. Ok bro, at that point I’m going to just buy the downstem and cut it up myself. I asked another guy if he could add some little glass bumps to a tinymight stem he already makes, he lied and said it would deform the glass. I thanked him for his explanation but I know it can be done without deforming the glass in like 1min if you have the right equipment. I ended up making the thing myself by working a boro stirrer with a $20 propane torch. The trouble with clear glass vapes is that they look sketchy, and also that I’m cold calling these guys, they don’t know me and I don’t know them, we have no relationship, and I either get nothing or I get the custy price.
See this is why it would be good to have a guy on the forum who is a glassblowers. Am sure FC had a few guys but cant remember specific names.
