Normally, it’s the ZX, but at the moment I’m reworking my 14 mm Quartz Cap setup. It handles loads weights in the same neighborhood, but in my case, it falls short of the ZX on taste with loads under 0.05 g. I don’t think the taste deficit is entirely due to the differences in the vapes Its also my questionable use style
I think people call a vape efficient when they want to tack on a compliment to a vape they like.
I think the word can make sense in the DHV space
efficient /ĭ-fĭsh′ənt/
-
Acting or producing effectively with a minimum of waste, expense, or unnecessary effort.
-
Acting directly to produce an effect.
-
Causing less waste or requiring less effort than comparable devices or methods. Used in combination.
Seems like a good definition to me.
I find hybrid vapes that rely heavily on conductive and radiant heat, generally extract more thoroughly and with less dependency on user technique. Vapes where the bowl or chamber holding the weed is heated.
I’m thinking quartz cap, BakX, Solos, dynavaps, vapman etc. Now whether all that vapor makes it to your lungs is another story. There’s some waste here if you’re not hitting these types of vapes with only a short time between draws.
Convection vapes can certainly be efficient too but to do this they generally need more power (like ball vapes) and rely more heavily on good airflow and user technique. That’s my 2 cents.
I don’t have many vapes but I’m always blown away by my quartz caps and V-stick. If I want to get a lot of effects out of like 0.1g the #11 quartz cap will do that. If I want to squeeze everything out of a bigger load the 18mm will do that. I’m using a torch so I have to get the torching just right, but when I do, it’s great flavor and an even roast. I guess that potential for inconsistency would ding it a bit for efficiency, because not every session is 100% optimal, but I’m still impressed by it.
