POLL: How BIG are your HITS?

In an effort to make my reviews as consistent as possible, I’m redoing my vape reviews and creating a standard session recording sheet.

I’ll use one of these sheets to document a session or three.

BUT I NEED TO TAKE CONSISTENT DRAWS

I can inhale for 30+ seconds if the vape is tight enough, so i’ll limit each documented draw to a consistent length for all vaporizers regardless of its airflow

How long is the average inhale length with a relatively open vaporizer?

  • 2-5 seconds
  • 6-11 seconds
  • 12-20 seconds
  • 21-30 seconds
  • longer than 30

I mostly vape with dosing capsules, and I pack them real tight. The most draws 3 to 4 seconds maybe at the end when there is not much left I take 5 to 6 seconds draws. Moderate temps only higher to finish. This way the flavor last a long time. Longer draws make me cough

oh cool, is that with all vapes?

i timed my venty draw lengths tonight. 10 seconds what i do with that vape

i might have to change my vote

Yes I only adjust the temps so they match my style. Solo 3 180C Mighty and Crafty 185C HR rogue 190C

I got a sensitive throat, so not huge. Been thinking of looking for a bigger bong to filter it more or recycler. :slightly_smiling_face:

Maybe the types of inhalation should also be taken into account?

I think it’s reasonable to group it into 4 inhalation types:

1)Short Sip

2)Long Sip

3)Short Rip

4)Long Rip

5.)Combination of the above

With my ball vape, 8-10 seconds to clear a bowl. With my Venty, I stack vapor between small inhales of air to get a lungful. 5-6 seconds.

I don’t think I have ever timed my hit, and it’s too early for me to start, but hitting an empty Frolic or Venty I seem to fall into the 6-11 seconds, though when I’m spaced out watching TV it’s probably the 2-5 seconds, but that is muscle memory more than vaping, so I voted 6-11. Out of curiosity I did a test hit of the DaVinci and it was twice as long.

I love the micro doses but still give you massive rips!
Well, maybe not micro at 0,5g per load but that is pretty light.

I will load up a bowl using my “PINCH” scoop, level it gives consistent 0,5g loads.
Using either my ZX, Supreme V4, Tempest 2, Tornado actually any of my convection vapes, I will take up to 20 second draws to finish the load in one hit.

I find that doing it this way I maximize flavor and extraction in one hit.
The ABV is always light brown from top to bottom, sides included and crumbles to a dust.

Consistency is key!

Great idea to include with your reviews!

I typically am using my Hornet and can clear the bowl in 7-8 seconds. But I am very capable of a 25+ second hit on my larger devices like the Mercury or the Taroma XL.

I chose the 2-5 and 6-11 categories although I’m sure that there are times when my draw will go beyond 11 seconds.

I like starting most sessions with good old-fashioned pipe-puffs to get the vapor flowing and get the nose involved. Taste is nothing with the smells that go with it! These are largely 2-5 sec inhales although I often like chaining a lot of these pipe-puffs together. In this regard it can resemble a really long draw.

Usually the pipe puffs are followed by deep, 6-11 sec draws for the most part after that until the session ends.

Zack’s Hits!

Draw-time, Dosage & Devices used:
I chose the 6-11 range based on my usage of my Dynavap G3 and M2021 slow sips. I load around 0.1g-0.2g usually and if I am using my Arizer Air SE it’s gotta be around the 0.2g-0.3g range I estimate.
I have a tendency to moderately tamp down whatever I am loading. Generally achieving 1 good long sip on the Dynas and a few mid-to-long sips on with my Arizer Air SE still within the 6-11 range.
Mostly medicating with CBD these days an the occasional sprinkle of THC for a combination.

Temperature Range:
As far as temp zone I go around 3-5 seconds pass the 2nd click on Dynavap Caps depending on the relative-humidity in the flower using a torch and a little bit of variation for induction heater use. Not exactly sure the temp range on the Dynas I’m hitting my temp gun was vastly off reading the caps but I estimate around 230c.
For the Air SE it’s in the green setting of 200c/374f.

Also @420vapezone could we please see a completed Session Test Sheet or a link to any already shared?
If I am being impatient and they are set to be shared elsewhere here; I can wait with the group.
Though I am eager to see how it’s executed and recorded - I think it’s a cool idea.

I like to make it a lung buster even if it’s microdoses. Gotta love the Vapvana pinch hitter bowl and the thermal accumulator for this. Biiiiiiig inhales even with a small piece.

nice! that was a big learning for me, i’m going to start a new thread about that though

the sheet is working great for me. I need to expand on the graphing area and make it more functional

The size, strength and length of my hits vary depending on device. Obviously there is the device limitations whether it be a Dynavap bowl, Lobo, Venty, TM2, ball vape. On my main drivers like a TM2/Frolic/Venty about a full 2 tenths of a gram and I am more of a moderate to biggish ripper with a strong pull for about 8-10sec no. of hits per bowl vary device depending. On my ball vape I often load it up with a large hit like .3+ or something and kill it in a long strong 8 second pull. Usually one and done but maybe a small finish up once in a while. My lung capacity has improved so damn much after switching from combustion years ago.

@Stu style thermocouple testing would be sweet

Curse you Troy! I never paid attention to the actual time I hit until your post, and now I’m timing every hit!

The reason for the post though, I like coarse going in the Solo 3, but most of my vapes I prefer a finer grind on. Since I don’t change the grind plate every bowl, sometimes I use coarse grind in other vapes, and sometimes a finer grind in the Solo.

I have found that my normal inhale times are different depending on the grind. I tend to inhale to a point I can feel/taste the vapor and on a course grind my inhale tends to be about 2-3 seconds longer than on a fine grind. Same was true on the Frolic. I haven’t yet tried on the others, but though it was interesting, especially considering the post about effects at various draw lengths.

Sure you’re not missing a zero? 0.5g is half a gram, it’s a HUGE load and by no mean a micro dose for the vast majority of people!
