they used a Shopify plugin that recently started redirecting traffic. VGoodiEZ seems to have done the right thing, but if you have placed an order recently with them, read the Reddit post.

Seems like it is best to get a gift card and load it up to shop the sites now. Passed on buying something from VG several years ago because they wanted a photo ID with your birth date on it for age verification, along with your credit/debit card info. Believe you were suppose to cover up address etc. but I’m way to paranoid to try something like that and that’s on me. Forgot the mechanics of how you were to submit the verification. Fun times!!!

I use virtual store card numbers from my credit card. I dunno if others do it but for Capital One you can create virtual cards for specific online stores that you can lock and unlock as you need to use them.
It makes canceling a service that’s hard to cancel much easier too.

At the risk of stating the obvious don’t use your debit card, basically saying here’s my checking account have at it.
I use regular CC because you have more protection! The CC companies will make an effort because after all that’s there money initially. Saved my butt on a few misguided Instagram purchases over the last few years.

Agree about the debit card but for some it is their only option to buy on line. I have specific card with a low limit to keep the risk down but some products can be higher than $500 (US). Also, most sites can be hacked so please do not beat up VG.

I get an alert to my phone to authenticate most online purchase but not all. It can be set so it does it with all my online purchases. I am in UK.
Also I never save my cards to any store and anytime I enter my details is a payment portal not connected to the website am buying from.
The only 2 sites that I do save my credit card to are Amazon and Ebay.
I hope this gets sorted soon and anyone who is affected gets it sorted ASAP.

I believe the offending plugin was removed, and their site was scrubbed to ensure nothing malignant was left behind. Safe to use VG, but they recommend checking if you purchased anything from them around Sept. 21.
