Tafee Flaske

Mine works with any cable where the other end is USB-A but having to keep one of those around just for one device is quite a pain

I think this cost me about $40.

It’s interesting but some external battery backups/chargers work fine, but I have a couple that must be too powerful and don’t work?

One thing I noticed is that some really charge the Flaske fast, empty to full in like 40 minutes! The charger from my TB2 works fine but is very, very slow it takes multiple hours to charge full.

I haven’t used the “fast charger” included with the Flaske it’s still in the box, factory fresh.

I’ve ask chatgtp about the Right powerbank for the bowl maybe this is why some Banks are working fine and some don’t. and it says:

Since your device apparently explicitly expects QC3.0 via USB-A, I would choose a power bank with a USB-A QC3.0 output.

Recommendation:

Anker Germany – search for an Anker PowerCore 10000/20000 with Quick Charge 3.0

UGREEN Germany – 10,000 or 20,000 mAh power bank with QC3.0 USB-A output

Specifically, what I would buy:

UGREEN CD122 QC3.0 charger

USB-A to USB-C cable (0.3–1 m, depending on your needs)

Anker PowerCore 10000 QC or a UGREEN 10000 mAh QC3.0 power bank

Important: When choosing a power bank, make sure it explicitly states “Quick Charge 3.0” or “QC3.0 USB-A Output”. Pure USB-C PD power banks, despite their high wattage, can be problematic with this device, just as described in the text.

Looks like the Flaske is for sale again on their website.

I saw that and ordered mine last night!

Super curious how the fit is when you get yours! I’m really hoping they were able to address it.

To my knowledge, it’s from the same production run. They had a very limited release of units and it was first come first serve and they said once these units are gone, it will be a while until the next production run is ready.

My guess is that it is returned units or ones that were held up in shipping and then brought back to the shipper but again… That is just a complete guess on my part.

Yes, I’m very curious as well!

If it is, they are still available this morning. Not interested in the least for me and Troy doesn’t seem happy with his now. I thought others might want it.

I can’t wait for mine to show up. Been wanting to use it for quite a while now. Seems to have great functionality and do what it’s supposed to do. I really don’t care about lines and perfection if it performs the way it should. Maybe my opinion may change once I have it but for now I am super excited for it to arrive.

@ChronicMasterVaper You will love it. It’s an awesome vape.

I’ll have to wait until a shop in EU gets it. Nice so I’ll have plenty of time to save up some money for it

I asked Tafee back in December 2024 about their $89 shipping as their cheapest option - they answered due to holiday surge and current national postal service strike we have no cheaper courier options available but here 1,5 years later the cheapest shipping option is still $89!

I was honestly a bit caught off guard with the pricing. I live in Canada and I am aware that they are a Canadian company who manufacture and distribute from Canada, so I did what we’re not supposed to do by assuming lol… I assumed the pricing would be in Canadian dollars.

Needless to say, I was a little shocked when I saw the total when going to check out as it was in USD, not Canadian…. considerable difference with the currency exchange lol

oh well… Some people buy designer watches, shoes, and bags, which I do not, so I guess this is my preference and what makes me happy

They must be making more stock. I was asked to wait until late last week to send mine back to them, in case it needed to be replaced.

“For that reason, we plan to facilitate the return on or around the week of July 27. This timing will allow us to ensure that, should your device require replacement rather than adjustment, we have the necessary inventory available to expedite the process without unnecessary delays.”

Edit: Got my dates wrong lol. I guess they wanted me to wait il early this week

Anyone else getting these metal flakes coming off? I’m a little concerned since they are dangerously close, if not getting into the airway right near the mouthpiece.

Just my two, but this (after having seen quite a few people report it) has been an absolute turn off for me in a (supposedly) premium and definitely premiumly priced device.

Cannot understand how they think it’s fine rolling it out like this - no matter how well it performs in general.

Here is their response. I honestly don’t know what to think. So it sounds like either I’m not aligning it correctly (I’m very careful every time), or it’s normal wear and tear and the gasket is doing its job stopping the metal flakes from getting into the airway. After carefully wiping it all and finding a concerning amount of gray “dust” on iso pads, I’m really having a hard time picking this vape back up. Thoughts? Should I return it?

"Thank you for your message and for your kind words about your enjoyment of the Flaske since receiving it.

We also appreciate the detailed description of your experience and the close-up photographs you provided highlighting the area of concern.

We have carefully inspected the images you sent.

Based on what we can see, the sparkling particles around the silicone appear to be the result of abrasion caused during stem insertion.

When inserting the stem, please take care to ensure it is properly aligned with the guide rail in the device and not at an angle before sliding it into the Power Base Unit. You may notice there is an intentional gap between the top of the stem and the top of the Flaske Power Base Unit once the stem is fully inserted. This gap is by design and serves to eliminate physical contact between the two hard metal surfaces when the stem is inserted or separated properly.

If the stem is introduced at an angle or is not fully seated on the guide rails before being pushed into place, it can contact the upper metal portion of the Power Base Unit, creating resistance. Over time, this resistance can create small metal abrasions, which is consistent with what we can see on the sides of your Flaske Power Base Unit in the photographs you provided. These fine metallic particles can then accumulate around the silicone, creating the sparkling appearance that understandably caught your attention.

Based on the images provided, we do not believe this indicates a defect with the silicone, the stem or the device itself. We recommend thoroughly cleaning the affected area (Top Housing Gasket and the inside areas of the Top of your Stem) to remove any accumulated particles before continuing to use your Flaske. You images show a notable amount of hair, lint and other particles accumulated around the areas of your device top housing gasket area.

Going forward, ensuring the stem is aligned with the guide rails prior to insertion should prevent further abrasion and using the cork with your stem inserted when the device is carried will prevent debris from accumulating around the same areas highlighted in your pictures.

It is also important to note that, despite your understandable concern, the geometry of both the stem and the Flaske Power Base Unit has been intentionally engineered so that any areas which could experience this type of abrasion from repeatedly inserting the stem incorrectly are isolated from the air path. This counters the risk of inhaling or ingesting any fine particles that may accumulate in these exterior areas over time.

This is an intentional aspect of the Flaske’s design. You can easily confirm this yourself by inserting the stem correctly until it is fully seated in the device and then removing the mouthpiece. You will observe that the central opening of the stem matches the geometry of the gasket in such a way that the aerosol traveling toward the mouthpiece is sealed from the outer perimeter surrounding the silicone gasket and the adjacent metal housing. Consequently, any abrasion that may occur around the exterior of the silicone remains outside the sealed aerosol pathway and cannot enter the air stream during normal operation.

Thank you again for bringing this to our attention. We appreciate your diligence and your decision to reach out directly before drawing any conclusions. If you have any additional questions, or if you notice anything changes after cleaning and adjusting the insertion technique, please let us know. We would be delighted to continue assisting you."

How does an improperly aligned stem finish get eroded by silicone? It’s the only thing it makes contact with in that spot.

My metal dust issues are different because they are caused by me scraping the stem with the pick due to improper alignment.

Your issue is multiple levels of concern higher and I’m 100% not satisfied with that response.

I would demand a replacement imo.

They literally just gaslit you about putting it in wrong and then shamed you for not cleaning it that is maybe the worst possible response they could have sent
