Mine landed a couple of days ago. Looks like @Kokolokokolokon machining wize, yes, better looking than the website pics.
Right on. I like the roasts here!
Ti Core, a bit of cbd hashish, 35 sec 85W Yll3 ![]()
My heat core arrived today. I gave it an iso soak, and rinsed it with water. I then blasted it with my mini Rothenberger torch until it was glowing red ![]()
I used my YLL at 80w x42 seconds, and then used it on my trusty mini globe bong. The vapour production was pretty good, and it gave me 2 big lungfuls and a slightly smaller one before it cooled down.
I was pretty happy with the AVB. There were a couple of spots on the top of the bowl that were darker, but rest of the bowl looked nicely toasted, and I didn’t think it needed a second round.
I’m not sure if it’s a placebo effect, but I think I do feel more of a stony body high. More testing is required! (but not for a little while
)
My Tempest2, case, reload, and YLL 3.0 all got here by Tuesday, but it has been way too damn hot to go outside to try it out until tonight, and holy crap. This thing kicks ass. Unfortunately, the head popped off the stand when I tried to take off the cap, but I have that figured out now, so hopefully next time, tomorrow evening, that won’t happen again.
Really hoping the Mad Heaters site still has bundles in stock by the time I get paid on the 24th as I’ve decided on this for my first stick vape! Is there much of a learning curve with regards to how far you push the top into the induction heater?
I had the head too far down for my first time. Now I figured out how to set the depth correctly. I hope. Take the glass sleeve with the stopper out, grab three dimes, and put them on the bottom. Since the tube is hollow, push that stopper up until the three dimes, or even with the glass. That is the correct depth, I believe, that it should be at. I will try it again tomorrow evening. And then you can put the glass sleeve with the correct stopper depth set back into the YL
Definitely a learning curve, but worth the effort.
That area looks awesome. Trees amongst Trees ![]()
They say the third time is the charm, night three, and I finally have the Tempest 2 and YLL 3.0 dialed in, and oh my god, if this is anywhere half what a real ball vape is like, sign me up holy shit this is amazing I think I even like it better than my TB 2 and that’s saying something.
It truly is incredible
This arrived yay! Looking forward to learning how to use it but right now honestly a little shocked at how under-explained everything is on the website and “Manual”. It really expects you to know everything about stick vapes already, doesn’t bother explaining what all the parts are or how they work, really just leaves it completely up to you to stumble through which is making me very stressed.
Ask away here!
The top screw is what secures the Visual Indicator and (pretty sure) tightens the sleeve on the head where airflow is adjusted.
The mouthpiece turns to adjust the airport.
I typically aim for the visual indicator to be at 2 or between 2/3
in the YLL, I adjust the depth to be about halfway (where the bowl is) covering the vertical lines of the bowl. I use 75 w @ 47 seconds and it puts me between 2/3 on the VI
wand similar depth and around 530 to timeout
Thanks! I figured it all out after a little trial and error and a couple of lost balls ![]()
First attempt, combustion! cap immediately discoloured. Was that meant to happen? I saw something about cleaning for that on the site anyway so I’ll have a look but for now ok another ISO bath and a wait and we go again. Second was too far the other way, pulled out too early after the first click and only got a couple of ok hits. So I decided to stop messing around and get super anal retentive with it and hopefully the third time would be the charm!
Set the heater to 80W for 40 seconds just as the site recommends and used the spacer thing for the depth, let it time out and started hitting, got one rreeeeeeally nice cloud and another medium-sized hit out of it with the visual indicator just past the 2. AVB was light-to-medium brown and very even. Very nice and I think I can push it a little further. That first hit was so great dude, flavour was good in both, effect is definitely good lol
The Reload is a great design too, happy I sprang for the bundle. The whole set is just really well-made and put-together and the focus has clearly gone in the right places. Feelin pretty damn sweet right now
Yeah it’s a pretty nice ecosystem. The sleeve will discolor with heat, it’s not as resistant as something like the Relli.
I find Barkeepers Friend does wonders on any stick vape if you’re looking to polish it back up.
But yeah, that space between line 2/3 is the sweet spot. I don’t even pay attention to the clicks.
Didnt realize that they changed the bowl screen and ball retaining screen, going to need to do another order lol
Yeah this ended up being one of my biggest issues lol, the website vid still has the old design so I was faffing around with that for ages
Had a couple more bowls and 85@43 seems like a good sweet spot so far, will have to experiment with packing and different grind plates
Question for heat core users, what are your thoughts on it giving more conduction?
The first few days I thought I noticed a diffence, but now I’m not sure if I am imagining it!
I do like it regardless of heat properties!
