I am getting a t2 and yll3.0. Problem is I can’t afford them both at once. How does it work with a torch which I will have to lose for 6 weeks?
Torch is the way to go anyways, would much rather invest in a good torch before a IH, ih does well with tempest but so does the torch. Honestly I haven’t touched an IH unless I’m not trying to look like a crackhead in public.
I have used both and would never go back to a torch. It’s more difficult to avoid combustion with torches, as well as just being a hassle holding the torch and rotating the device, etc.
As you can see, some people like the ritual of using a torch. I am completely converted to induction heaters. You can try both and reach your own conclusion. In the meanwhile, the torch will work perfectly fine.
I’ve just gotten my T2 and am in the same situation, only having money for the device itself and case this month. It’s taken some “work” to dial things in, getting pretty comfortable now.
Planning on the Reload, YLL, and a nicer grinder next grinder soon, and eventually some nice glass to run it through to make things easier on my lungs.
For the Tempest 2, I use the Ispire Wand and look at the heat indicators on the top of the head. All you will need is the Tempest wand adapter v3, which is $10. You just push the adapter in the wand using the Tempest head. You will push the adapter in until you can see the temperature indicators on the underside of the wand. Set it to 550⁰F and you will hear the 2 clicks. I usually pull the Tempest out a few seconds past the second click, when the heat indicator is between II and III. I can usually clear the bowl on one heat up (2 nice draws) However, if you don’t have the wand, a good torch always does the job as well.
I just keep mine at the lowest heat setting, which is 250 Fahrenheit because it doesn’t seem to make a difference with Dynavap devices. ??
