The Junk Drawer

Well… every house has one, so why shouldn’t we? :joy:

Welcome to The Junk Drawer.

This is for all those random questions and discussions that don’t really belong in any one device Wiki.

Comparing different vapes, talking accessories, glass, stems, adapters, torches, batteries, or those “I have no idea where to post this…” moments… toss them in here.

Think of it like the junk drawer in your kitchen. It’s full of random stuff, but somehow it’s always the first place you look.

Hopefully this gives all those odds and ends a home instead of trying to figure out which Wiki they belong in.

Now let’s see what ends up in the drawer…

To kick things off…

I’m curious what everyone’s thoughts are on the Tempest 2 compared to the original Tempest.

I already own the original Tempest and honestly, it performs really well for me, so I’m not looking to upgrade just for the sake of upgrading.

For those of you who’ve spent some time with both, is the Tempest 2 a noticeable step up, or is the original still holding its own?

I’m interested in real world opinions. If you’ve used both, was the upgrade worth it? What differences stood out to you? Have you also tried and compared to the Simrell Ti or Joystick? Thoughts?

I Have 2 Tempest V1s and 2 V2s. Apart from the lager bowl size and subtle updates to the screens not essential if happy with V1. I Have the upgrade kits on the V1 and don’t really have a preference to what I reach for .

I know some peeps said the V1 was hard to get consistent hits but I could never understand as I found it to be a very repeateble.

Thanks for letting me know your thoughts on both, and I agree with you. I never had an issue getting it dialled in, and I do get some fantastic hits and don’t mind the smaller bowl. I will save my money for something else and will be content with my original Tempest. Appreciate your opinion, and hope you have a great day! :victory_hand:

Today I found something in the junk drawer. I call it a golden nugget, like Charlie at the chocolate factory found a golden ticket in his chocolate bar. Do you know this? You buy a bag of weed and the quality is good and all of a sudden you have only one nugget that is like twice as strong than the rest. It has the same smell, looks the same (maybe a bit better looking) but it hits you real hard. I had one this week, I love it! It doesn’t happen very often, I had two this year.

When you travel anywhere, do you just take one vape or do you like options? I think we all can agree… I like options. I’m away from home for one night and this is my travel kit.

You are all lucky, I live in a country where it’s illegal. After those sniffer dogs picked me out several times because they smell my vapes or weed I decided when I travel I stay clean. The police isn’t that bad you can keep your vape without problems, for an amount less than 3 grams you have to pay between 75€ and 150€, but they let you go and it doesn’t come on your criminal record. For CBD they do nothing, you can keep it, but the dogs doesn’t know the difference

If I’m out and about for a short time I only take the Frolic. I can sip it or rip it and it’s convenient, stealthy and portable.

If it’s a longer trip and I expect to be in a safe and more private environment, I also take the Tempest 2 for some OHE goodness, usually before bed.

Third candidate would be the Lotus with Gentleman Pipe just for smoothness and swagger but it’s not for every environment, so I seldom bring it with me.

All this applies to travelling within Germany, though. Unfortunately, any border crossings are too risky for me with vapes and bud.

I definitely feel lucky to live somewhere it’s federally legal. I can travel with my vapes and cannabis without worrying about it, as long as I’m staying in the country.

I still remember about a year after legalization. I was outside a hotel using one of my vapes when a police cruiser pulled up right in front of me. My heart started racing and I started sweating… then I remembered, “wait… It’s legal now” :joy:

It still felt weird after so many years.

It depends on the trip. I usually take 2-3 devices no matter what (to both keep switching up and have a backup for a backup). And I’ll pick out a few strains plus a few concentrates to bring.

If I’m gone more than a few days I tend to bring everything I’m currently using plus an unnecessary amount of flower and concentrates (I have a very large leather travel bag dedicated to all of this).

Faith in humanity restored… and my rosin saved :joy:

Had something happen yesterday that genuinely made me smile, so I figured I’d share it here.

For the first time ever, I decided to order some higher end live rosin through a mail order company. I had a little over $200 worth coming and paid for express next-day shipping, so naturally I was watching the tracking like a kid waiting for Christmas lol

The tracking eventually updated to show it was out for delivery, but the end of the day came and… nothing.

I figured no big deal, it’ll probably show up tomorrow.

Fast forward to around 3 PM the next day. Still no package.

Then I get a knock at my door.

There’s a woman standing there holding my package. She tells me she lives about a five-minute drive away and found it sitting on her front lawn near the driveway. Best guess is it somehow fell out of the mail carrier’s bag or vehicle.

Instead of ignoring it or just leaving it there, she picked it up, looked at the address, got in her car and drove it over to my house.

Meanwhile, inside that innocent looking package was over $200 worth of high-end live rosin just sitting on some random lawn waiting for anyone to find it!

I thanked her probably five times and even offered her some money for going out of her way to bring it over. She wouldn’t take anything. Just said it was no problem at all and she was happy to bring it to me.

I don’t know… with all the negative shit we hear about every day, something that simple really stuck with me.

That package could have disappeared very easily. Instead, it landed in front of exactly the kind of person you’d hope would find it.

Faith in humanity restored.

And, more importantly, the rosin survived and it’s some of the best stuff that I have been able to find :joy::fire::melting_face:

That touched me as if it happened to me, I love such stories. There are still lots of good people around!

I think we live in the same country. I am on vacation on an island and I couldn’t bring anything with me even if i flew internally.

Usually I use my vacation with my small kids without any DHV and do a tolerance break.

I would love to make a cart liquid from my avb is one of the things on my list for exactly this kind of moments. Keep a 5ml pod with me would be amazing.

 Even within the USA travel is tricky. I have a medical card for my home state but reciprocity isn’t widespread. I’m actually sick and lose weight whenever I travel. I’d never fly with the stuff but used to take a cart pen. A cart in Arizona saved that trip. Christmas up north, saved by some THC from New Jersey. This year, a funeral in Rhode Island… By now I hate leaky carts, so got a pack of prerolls. Stinky, dirty, wasteful. Only two doses per joint - shoot, one gram in the Frolic is 4-5 bowls! But I was able to eat.

Oh. If you have a real junk drawer, never keep nine volt batteries anywhere near steel wool Brillo pads. If they touch, your junk drawer catches on fire.

In the last 12 months I bought 2 vaporizer that were cheap and some YouTubers talked good about them, so I thought I just buy them and try them out. Low, mid, high temps, other glass stems, soft draw hard draw… you understand what I mean. I just couldn’t find how to like them. I kept the glass stems, the cooling pearls and disposed them at the right place. They were not meant for me, so goodbye Norddampf Relict and Cuboo Vago (Yeson 3s). What I learned is, don’t take YouTubers serious and life is too short to waste your time on cheap vaporizers.

Hi, my name is Glenn aka ChronicMasterVaper, and it’s been 43 days since my last vaporizer acquisition.

I’m taking it one day at a time.

Right now, the urges are manageable. I can scroll past a new release without immediately reaching for my wallet. I can see the words “limited edition” and remain mostly calm. I’ve even looked at a vape I don’t own and thought, “I probably don’t need that.”

Progress.

But I know VAS is patient. It waits. It knows eventually some bastard will post a 20% off coupon, a new ball vape will drop, or one of you enablers will say, “Dude, this thing absolutely rips.”

So for today, I remain strong.

43 days VAS-free.

Please respect my privacy during this difficult time lol…

Vaporizer Acquisition Syndrome is real. There is no known cure.

I cant get as high as i want to from vaping, I need to make edibles and even when I just use small amounts i get great results from edibles.

I know most people are the opposite of this and even when people who prefer to vape do edibles they need a big dose to get good results so i am in a way lucky.

Am just realising this recently.

Edibles are essentially chaos for me with regard to results. Some do absolutely nothing and others have me stumbling. I don’t really get it but for those that don’t have luck with edibles I say keep trying different brands and sources and you might find something that really works for you. My wife and I have both found Cycling Frog (gifted originally by my buddy for my birthday) hits us right (they have some 50mg drinks that about put me in a coma) but my favorite flower place’s edibles were just absolute shit.

To me, it sounds like you are going through a difficult phase right now. Stay strong, you can do it. Resist
