Anyone have both? I have analysis paralysis and can’t decide. Would be using with the Chugga Jug 2.0 primarily and YLL 3.0. Looking for best conduction experience. Is the Tornado pitting an actual issue or was that overblown? Thx
I dont have a tornado but I will say my simrells retired my anvil. The flavor is a huge step up. But again thats the anvil, never had a tornado. The bowl of the tornado also holds .3g I believe where as the simrells hold .1g so consider that as well.
I have both and I would definitely go for the Hydro. Besides the better taste, it’s way more efficient. Also it’s easier to heat, both by flame or IH.
For the Tornado, at least in my experience, it’s a too fine line between under roasting and overcooking. I found my way with the Yll 3.0, but that’s the only thing I’m using the Tornado with. Too many bad torch experiences, despite being ab absolute torch guy. I also find it annoying that the cap can’t be closed all the way without risking heat lock from hell.
Can’t say anything about pitting. It looks bad on other’s photos, but luckily my device isn’t affected by the issue.
@BongWater Don’t retire your Anvil completely. When it’s neglected for a while, it hits even harder. Still a gorgeous device imo.
I don’t own a Hydro (the small bowl is the reason), so I don’t know how much value my comment has for you. The Tornado is a damn fine device though. For now I am not plagued by corrosion and pitting, hopefully it stays that way. 100W 30S is my sweet spot, perfectly even and dark roast every time, efficiency is top notch. Taste is not as good as with other vapes though and customer service seems to be a bit of an issue with Vestratto, based on what I read.
My opinion: If you value flavour more and don’t mind the small, .15g bowl, then go for the Hydro. If effects is your emphasis, then the Tornado will (very probably) be better for you, since it holds double the amount of flower. Just keep an eye on your tolerance, if that is a concern to you.
I cannot attest to the Tornado. The Dynavap heads have all preformed amazing in the YLL. If it was me and that was my primary for a heat source… I would 100% and confidentally agree!!! Dynavap + YLL = Yum & Good Times
