I think they have an upgrade kit to turn the V1 into the V2. I’m not sure what the differences are though, they were already on V2 when I ordered mine.
After a couple days I gotta say I am really enjoying this rig a lot. Currently running the CH shovelhead bowl with a whip and mouthpiece from my SSV. I’ve been able to run the temp a little lower and really milk the flavor for the first hit or two and still have enough heat in the head and the bowl to get a full roast. If you’re on the fence I say go for it.
No, there is not unfortunately.
Ya, I hear you on being disappointed (pissed off!) on no V1 compatibility with V2 attachments. I too purchased a V1 direct from TCC for about the same as you paid. Wonderful desktop baller is the V1 but I was looking forward to the expanded ecosystem they were promising. They did indeed deliver on that promise, I ordered and received an adapter kit. Stoked about being able to adapt to an injector but NOPE, the V1 head purchased from TCC doesn’t fit the adapters. On inquiry with TCC, I was told I needed a V2 housing to use my UB adapter kit. Fine …. Except the V2 housing is not/has not been available anywhere for quite some time. Frustrating AF for an enjoyable but expensive baller that could be better if the purchased adapter kit could be used. In fairness to TCC, they did state incompatibility of the adapter kit with V1 head in the description. But …. Being excited and high AF when ordering, I didn’t read everything. lol, of course
My bad. Still frustrated.
I saw it in the description so at least I didn’t have that disappointment.
I am not disappointed at all with my V1 UB. I also purchased the V2. After comparing them I went and purchased 2 more V1 when they were on super sale. I prefer the V1 with the V2 quartz or terp inserts. I also use the V2 fritted disc on my V1 baller. The parts are interchangeable, the thread size is the same. You would need to discuss with TC about swapping parts though. It is not recommended because titanium to titanium and stainless to stainless can lock up. I believe that is the case.
For me, I keep the V2 set aside for the attachment set, I rarely use the V2. I am always using the V1 with the V2 fritted disc with the wood handled hybrid bowl, which is my favorite.
You need the adapter sleeve that comes with the V2 baller in order to get the V1 to accept the V2 accessories, but again, I believe it is not recommended.
It doesn’t fit as far as I was told you need the V2 for the accessories.
You would’ve only needed the housing to get it v2, the internal quartz parts work as long as they are paired. Eg v1 quartz disc with v1 quartz insert or v2 quartz disc with v2 quartz insert
You should’ve gotten a code for 60% off of a housing as compensation, I emailed it to all v1 kit customers, but not everyone seemed to get it. The founders also got 60% off of an entire order as well (they got both sets of codes). The total cost to being able to use the adapter set would’ve been $24 plus shipping with your v1 kit.
The reason for the change was too many housings were getting completely stuck with v1, sorry about that!
However yes we’re out of the housings for the time being, which should be remedied sooner rather than later (now in SS444).
Never received a code or email for the V2 housing or I would have definitely bought it. I was an orginal buyer from Terpchasersclub.com. I will email you through the website.
@TerpChasersClub Thanks for the help appreciate the quick response to the emails I sent. Will be ordering the housing and other accessories when they restock.
What’s everyone’s opinions on the high-airflow inserts? I’ve only ever used the standard insert but was curious how the performance changed now that the ultra-high-airflow insert is being released.
Its definitely not an overwhelming change, but it does prevent any sort of balls blocking holes
An update for Pre-Orders:
Everything will be finished production within the next week or so.
However, the injectifuser has hit a couple snags and will cause the adapter sets to be sent out a bit later. We’ve got a fix pretty much finalized but the pieces are not quite ready.
Some examples of using the TMJ setup on low temp
Here’s the UB ripping with the Vortex top and the FMJ.
New housing teaser! Trying to make things easier while still not needing a specialized tool!
that looks easy enough - i like that the ring doesn’t need a special tool!
the new high airflow discs look clean af, sort of reminds me of those toy guns that shot tiny little discs
Any new updates on pre-orders? Looking forward to trying the black zirc!
