I get that the manufacturer handled the defect (suspected foreign material in the airpath) poorly but I do love this vape and it is my most frequent reach. Going on 2 years now.
You’re not alone. It’s an excellent unit and it’s a shame they botched it so badly the first time.
Halogens are an ideal heater type for tasters. They just peel away layers of flavor in a really gentle way. A halogen battery portable is a unicorn in the DHV space so I’m glad the AEv2 exists and that I own one.
Cool. I temp-step too and I bought the programming cable (dumb, should’ve been bundled btw) and discovered the default temps weren’t what was in the manual, so I put in my preferred range 165C, 180C, 190C, 205C, 220C if I remember correctly.
Saw this thread yesterday, and grabbed my Angus Enhanced V2.
It didn’t work. Huh.
Changed batteries.
Didn’t work.
Checked three other Angus, none worked.
So now I’m concerned. There is a real problem. Did they all die at once? How is that a thing?
Now, I’m pretty stoned, but not so stoned I don’t vaguely remember a power outage last month. The last time I remember using an Angus. Nothing wrong with Angus, Agnes, Ruby, or Magnus, but every battery is dead. Someone, and there is no reason to name names but it was me, was a jerk and forgot to charge batteries.
So not the loss of a line of vapes, but a failure of the operator. Which is actually better, cheaper, and less distressing. I can always get stoned to forget my failure.
Looks a lot like a device they were about to beta test with a few customers (like me) just before the shit hit the fan. I’d even bought batteries for it in anticipation. I’m definitely going to be interested when it’s back in stock.
Yes, and I’ve charged Angus and co. , and am working through batteries from the other portables that need it. The 10 hour outage was traumatic, and I blocked, just blocked, the memory of needing to charge the batteries. Likely, because I was stoned from going from portable to portable in a panic from not having a desktop or electric lights.
Usually it’s my Puffco PeakPro that I think I’ve killed but is just needing a charge.
I was the biggest fan of YLL and the OG Angus, got the AE right when it came out and it was a daily driver, well then the dike broke!
Shelved mine and never even cracked the box with the updated unit that Mike sent. About this time I had moved on to TB2 & then the Frolic.
Their new device looks promising, I just wonder if they can bounce back from such a public relations blunder? Even if the new model is stellar in all areas, many will avoid on principle.
I used to be fanboying these guys all over the place, had OG Angus 50 watt then the 100 watt model and jumped on the AE as soon as it came out.
not really sure about the fiberglass fiasco, would need to see 3rd. Party forensic level proof to believe it. However YLL response was slow & clumsy to say the least!
