Convex 2.0 by Entheos

Chatted with Entheos about the firing button and foil tape fix. When I opened the device there was some foil tape already there but looks thinner than the Nashua tape I have:

I pulled that tape off and added two small cut squares double stacked where the other tape was right over the firing button:

After reassembly, I can hear and feel the click with dozens of dry fire tests so that is really encouraging! I will try to test it on a session this afternoon if I can sneak away to grind some more stuff since the kiddo is home for the summer.

Disassembly for the fix was insanely simple. I do like how maintanable the device is. So easy to break down.

idk why but changing the cutoff to the max has also helped me alleviate most of my hotspotting issues, i can even go higher up in temperatures now.
i feel like im almost there with where i want my hits and performance to be.

I really hope you can make a claim and get reimbursed because surprises like that really take the shine off of a new toy. All I can give as advice is that it was worth the fiddling for me and I hope it would be for you.

Now that I have the Convex working to my liking, I really enjoy how tasty, fast and pocketable it is as well as how easy it is to clean. I am getting a solid 8ish bowls with it so the battery efficiency is good. I’m happy with the purchase and any little improvements that @Entheos.Hex brings to it should only make it better.

Nice! Good to hear.

Edit: I should note that I’m now using only the bottom of an AVLP capsule to act as a liner for the bowl. The unit is really easy to clean but I find this liner not only adds a bit of conduction which is nice, but it keeps the bottom part of the zirconia bowl clean for much longer and makes it easy to empty without needing a pick tool.

So yeah this worked extremely well. Once the session started it seemed to fire reliably and I could feel the button depressed, so I’m very happy with that fix! It took less than 5 minutes to do, and would have been faster if I had already cut the tiny squares of foil tape.

It’s so much clickier now

10/10 recommend anyone with the firing button issue do it.

We have no idea as well why it was charged so much. We had to declare the actual value or else we would lose out on insurance claims if ever anything happens.

Could we perhaps reimburse you with a voucher of same amount on our parts shop once we get everything in place?

I feel your pain. I paid 87€ of customs and got a chipped stem (but i have been said they will send a new one bu the end of this month).

But… Convex 1 & 2 still my favourite devices for dry herb

Waiting for mine!

I can feel the pain of those customs…here they can ask you for the 21% + up to the 30% (sometimes a bit more). A russian roulette…

@Entheos.Hex would be great for the v3 to have some kind of update kit for v2. A dedicated pcb would be incredible

I might need some hand-holding to get my Convex into the performance zone

This vape seems to tunnel and vape unevenly for me. Jerry helped me tweak the settings a bit, but the best extraction I got still left a big yin-yang roast of dark and unevenly roasted herb.

This vape feels more like a proof of concept. A tinkerer’s vape that’s not yet ready to be reviewed or compared.

Yeah there’s been a lot of hot-spotting reported and @Entheos.Hex acknowledged the possible reason a little earlier in this thread.

For me is a bit of having it set up right and, as with any convection on demand vpae, how is your draw. With The Convex v1 I really felt like with a Splinter and dialing the mod to be right there (but also taking into accoun t how is your draw).

Please share your settings and maybe we can move from there

So I’ve been trying to arrange a unit from the UK since the 20th of May.

My first email wasn’t answered. I did eventually get in touch after messaging here and sending another email.

Your business partner said it would be sorted for dispatch on Monday the 1st. I heard nothing so sent a reminder this morning. Another promise to invoice me this morning. It didn’t happen.

If I have to chase like this to actually give money to you, then I don’t fancy my chances with warranty issues etc.

I’ll give this one a miss. A shame as it looks ideal for my needs.

Hi, this is Jero. Maker and designer of the Convex devices. I would like to inform you all that my business partner has currently locked me out of both the 420VG and IG account of Entheos.Hex

He seems to have been offended by my attempt to find solutions to all the company’s problems while addressing all the delays he has caused this startup. @Entheos.Hex

Oh damn. Looks like i narrowly avoided being involved in whatever is happening here.

That’s really unfortunate because I think you make a good vape that could be great with some tweaks.

My simple advice would be to sit down and figure things out. Fighting publicly isn’t good for business. Anything worth doing will be hard so I hope you can overcome your differences by talking things out.

thats very unfortunate.
i hope you can get this resolved for your vape’s and companys sake, it’d be a shame if this comes crashing down because of a feud between you two.
glad i got my device i guess.

Any chance I can get in contact with an admin regarding entheos account? I can prove who I am, who wants to see every crap prototype I made pre tokedvapors?

@Entheos-Jero

So, who have I been talking to via your official admin email account?

Was I being scammed? The next step was a stripe payment link before this all blew up. If I was being scammed, you need to warn others and secure your website.
