Anyone using bucket screens on the Crown bowl to get the herb closer to the Crown? If so, what have the results been? Did you have to adjust your YLL settings?
I use the Tempest click discs in my Crown. Both high and low temp discs are at the top of the Crown ball chamber and both clicks can be heard (and slightly felt) on heat up and cool down. After finishing a bowl earlier, I timed how long it took for the cool down clicks. I started the timer after finishing my third and final hit. 2 minutes 30 seconds for the high temp click back, and 4 minutes for the low temp click back. I would definitely recommend installing click discs. Made it much easier during testing.

Here is a quick video of the Crown bowl with a modified basket screen to fit. I believe JCVAP is working on basket screens made specifically for the Crown bowl which will most likely fit and work better.
It doesn’t really change my IH settings from the stock screen position, but I notice I get a quicker OHE which I like.

My bowl handle got a little charred from some early experiments lol, and the insert came loose. Made a new one

Think I’m gonna order one of these. Does it come with enough balls to fill the unit completely? They offer 100 or 300 additional balls, too.

No, you need to buy some more. I added another 100 to my order which turned out to be the perfect amount.

300 is not enough to fill it completely. 400 would probably work. I have 300 2mm sic and topped it off with 2.5 gem cut rubies.
Just a quick tip in case you’re using your Crown Cap in a coil!
I found the handle was getting way too hot, and I didn’t want to damage my mini Geist handle, so I went into problem‑solving mode. I tried several different handles, but this one came out on top:
An M8 U‑bolt with a 30 mm spacing.

I mentioned before that while experimenting with my crown I charred the handle a bit and the insert pulled out. Totally my bad. However, still put It to use.

I reached out to JCVAP asking about the possibility of making and selling an M8 male to M8 female 90° angled adapter for a horizontal handle for the Crown. Once horizontal it doesn’t take much space to keep cool like with most wireless ballers. I also suggested it could also possibly be an M8 male - imperial 10-24 which is the more standard and most popular wireless ball vape and bowl handle thread sizing.
I also reached out to The Herb Cafe webstore here in Canada and they will be stocking the tempest 2 “click discs” in October when they’re getting a bunch of new Mad Heater Tempest products in. Such a good idea and I can’t wait to try one out in the Crown for reheats.

Actually I am surprised by how much they differ. Although I take only one hit and don’t let it heat soak I get a more conduction like high with the Titanium insert while the quartz insert has a more light, tastier profile. I use the quartz in daytime and switch to titanium in the evening. Another difference is that the cap sits very loosely on the quartz insert and shakes heavily when moving the Bubbler. On the other hand I am having a hard time to place the heated (!) cap on the titanium insert because they tilt and I have to try several times. Yesterday for the first time though it twisted that much that I had to wait until it cooled down completely before I could get the cap off the insert. Chances are that I am not going to use it anymore…
I am eyeing at the ruby insert. I would like to know how it compares to the quartz. Anybody?
Other than that I am having lots of fun checking out all the different ways of using it. I received it on Tuesday and haven’t used another vape since. Besides the OG Bowl, t.bowl, CXL I very much enjoy using the cap with a 2 adapter + TM rimmed basket sieve - microdose bowl
Edit: I removed the standard inserts and inlays of 2 Yll 3 devices and replaced it with the 28mm JCVAP quartz. No error msg with full recharged Molicel P50B on both IH.

I’m having the same experience with the quartz vs. titanium bowls. The Ti is such a tight fit that I got frustrated and switched to the quartz even though mine arrived slightly separated (JCVAP is replacing it, thanks!). Using the same settings for the quartz as I used on the Ti (upside down wand at 700 to time out before each hit, about 23s) I got a very tasty first hit and then a way heavier roast than I wanted on the 2nd. The Ti bowl was doing quite a bit of conduction of the heat.
The quartz bowl is a bit too loose and the Ti bowl is a bit too tight. But performance of both in terms of vapor are wonderful.

The Ti top is definitely a tight fit which I personally like (heat conducting efficiency) but thankfully no sticking issues for me. (Knock on wood)
I basically just hover the Crown over the bowl and let the centre of gravity do most of the work. It’s all I’ve been using tho and a lot, so it’s probably been worked in a tiny bit over time.

Just want to mention that I switched from 2.5mm gem cut rubies to 2mm sic balls and the difference is night and day. I use the titanium insert and the stock YLL glass insert. I get full real-deal one hit extraction with the sic. The vapor is almost combustion-like in its density. I am totally blown away by how well it works. The rubies don’t even compare honestly. Truly impressed.

Way more conductive than Ruby with the downside being they lose and dump heat noticeably faster than Ruby/corundum as a result.
That being said, if OHE is the goal, the heat loss speed rate is not an issue and can be a bonus for a quick dense and satisfying OHE.

Yes, this is a method I found worked to lessen chances of binding. I haven’t had issues for while now - maybe things have stretched as well?

I only have to reverse my routine.. Ti: first placing the cap on top and then grabbing the Bubbler and Quartz the other way around
That seems to work most of the time but even if cap and bowl are cold once I gently circle the cap it feels like grinding.
I am going to order another with SiC balls anyway, maybe that one fits better.
