I have a ZX.
If I want a nice tasty rip, I’ll run at 550F.
If I’m taking puffs in a tasting sesh then I’m running at 450F.

Since it’s a new month and has been a couple weeks since an update. @invertedisdead are there any updates on production for round two of the wireless ZXL? Are we still looking good for September?

Maybe +10 or 20F on the wireless ZXL

I temp step from 420°F up to 465°F, usually getting 2–4 hits from .05–.09 g bowls. The ZX is pretty responsive to more than just temp though. Soak time and screen depth can make a noticeable difference, along with the usual stuff like grind, draw, etc. There are plenty of ways to dial it in.

It depends on what I’m in the mood for at the moment… I use my ZX between 460 and 540°F.
Right now, I’m stuck at 480°F, with a full bowl!
Lately, I’ve been enjoying getting the most flavor possible while keeping the effects light at lower temperatures.

Hey @invertedisdead when do you expect round 2 of the ZXLs to ship to customers? I see there are a few pre-orders left was thinking bout hopping on the train. You think they will ship this month?

He updated earlier this week to say it is still on track for September fyi. It was in response to the wireless ZXL but I read “everything” as there’s no delays in any product lines currently.

I’m not sure that could be considered an update. If I was considering ordering today, I’d want a bit more than that. @invertedisdead is there some additional details you could include, any updates from the manufacturer you could share? It might help for folks that are on the fence.

Thanks for your interest! Yes everything is currently on track for delivery later this month.

It’s the longest part of the process. Much longer than the actual manufacturing period.
The parts are paid for and on order.
I will always post an update when I have something compelling to share.
Anyone on the fence should definitely get their order in ASAP or they risk not making this batch. Also the number on the page is not coded to actual inventory so I can’t guarantee it to be 100% accurate. I know there’s a handful of units still available for reservation but I don’t anticipate to have any inventory leftover after they land.

Is the same true for the bowls? e.g. do you ever end up with extra stock of those? I purchased the 18mm with the kit, but at some point I’ll probably also want to pick up the 14mm, just couldn’t afford the extra $80 at the time, but eventually….

Yeah sometimes, for example I have a bunch of extra bowls right now because a bunch of people in the first round were existing PHASE3 wired ZXL owners who already have a phase3 bowl.
These extra bowls on hand will be used to fulfill the next batch of ZXL bundles.
It’s important people get their preorder in early to guarantee availability of bowls as well because having both 18MM and 14MM sizes means I don’t always have the resources to keep inventory of both available. One of the things that made the ZX easier to plan around.

Main reason for making this is I have a lot of concepts to share and gauge evaluation and feedback on.
I think this website is good for finished products but for PHASE3 specific development I think it’s appropriate to finally start to curate this community.

Toying with the idea of opening a shopfront type website here in Northern Ireland for exactly such reasons.
Brexit left northern Ireland both a part of the EU for customs purposes and also able to access the UK market.
Sadly in Europe access to certain American high end items is becoming problematic.
A ZXL is on my list at some point. As tbh I think it would do well commercially and the materials intrigue me.

Good morning @invertedisdead , it’s been a couple of weeks since your last update and we are now half way through September. Can you please provide an update on the production status of the current round of ZXL’s? If they haven’t begun manufacturing, do you still feel that September is a reasonable expectations for our orders to ship?

Ceramics and electronics are in production now. This is a full stage process where my ceramic manufacturer sinters their own zirconia rod from raw material before being precision machined with diamond tooling.
These are still the only CNC machined zirconia products in the industry. All other black zirconia parts from others are molded.
There is some question if the aluminum heating stations will be ready in time but I’ll be pushing for it for sure.

I can tell you what the folks on FC told me back then: Embrace the waiting. I did so for eight months with no regrets at all. Love my ZXL, currently waiting for the Mako.

Definitely worth the wait. My ZX has seen the most time in rotation, and it’s still special every time I go back to it after a break. Would love to try one of the others at some point down the road.

Unfortunately I lost all of my “social proof” when I moved over to my new website recently.
I used to have a lot of amazing reviews and testimonials on there that really reinforced that vibe.
I think I could import them from my old website but they’re mostly for products I’m not selling right now so I haven’t looked further into it.
