The MAKO has been uniquely designed from the ground up, specifically for portable torch and induction heating and to improve on the heat saturation issues with portable ball vapes.
The original concept was 100% quartz and pure convection; but so many people are super in to hybrid vapes and induction heated stuff these days, so I wanted to try something different and port the design over to fit the modern enthusiasts vaping style.

I was in a rush to get my pre-order in and ordered the 20mm barrel coil thinking it’d be a fit, but after seeing the new, actual coil on the site it totally makes sense that it wouldn’t lol. Deeper body is going to require a deeper coil of course.

Oddly enough, now one (of my two) packages is set to arrive today with the other one arriving Saturday. No idea what’s in which (S14 and ZXXL Wireless head incoming) so I guess I’m in for a surprise. Gotta love the Post Office.
My one package (only the s14 showed shipped while wireless ZXL and blue heater coil stand still says awaiting processing) will be here Monday it looks like so I’ll be enjoying whatever info and pics you guys getting it before the weekend can share!

Massive thanks to the MAKO supporters for investing in aTop Secret project, I know that’s not easy but I think a lot of people understand the state of the space now and why stuff like this may become more necessary for small innovative companies.
I really have to apologize for the split packages my friends, this should hopefully be the last time that ever happens.
A good percentage of PHASE3 orders come from repeat customers, and the last website had zero options to easily split shipping OR combine orders. It was one of the main driving forces behind needing to move to a new platform. I’m pretty happy with the back-end improvements gained from the new system.
Heads up though - I’m curious if anyone notices the screen sometimes going blank or black when clicking onto something on the new website? Happening fairly regularly for me, so I’m assuming others are encountering this as well.

My 2 boxes were in Albuquerque (usually means delivery next day) 2 days ago. My Mako arrived yesterday (extreme yay!), my ZXL W/L just drove right past me up to Santa Fe. Where it sits as of an hour ago. I absolutely, unequivocally despise the US Postal Service at the moment.
I’m currently learning how the Mako work. 10 to 15 count in the hot part of a Big Buddy flame with .25g bowl on a standing j-hook equals clouds and Marlboro Red coloured duff. The head stays hot longer than I expected and a test-tube holder works nicely (clamps in the fin slots) as a stand. This is absolutely a fun device that I believe I’ll play with a bit today …
My ZXL Wireless has arrived. It is a lovely gem, and is currently being shown off in an Ed’s mango wood head holder because I have a question … how does one adjust the inner diameter of my coil. I assume I want the head to just fit into the coil with maybe a couple of Zig-Zag’s clearance, right? I’d appreciate any suggestions, I don’t think I should be using a pipe wrench ;-{^=======. I’ll also note that I’m using an Auber pid and coil, not a P3 setup, so if you bought a kit ymmv.
As an side note to other purchaser’s, check the bag the head is in before opening, I found that like 8 balls had escaped through the handle attachment hole. Easy to fix as long as any loose balls are accounted for (mine ended up in my lap).
I received my wireless ZXL. Wow! this thing is really cool, super tiny, but full power. It seems just as powerful as the wired version. I am really loving it, and a steal for only $150! Staying on my rig with the ZX and ZXL wired versions. I just need to add a coil on my rig for it.
I just purchased a 25mm reducer (adapter) from Cannabis HW, I think I paid about $20 for it. . Stainless steel, drop it into the coil and it reduces it down to 20mm to accommodate the wireless ZXL.
The con of using this: when you pull the ZXL out of the coil the adapter sometimes wants to come out with it.
I will likely just hook up a 20mm coil. Phase 3 sells those reasonably priced. I think I have seen them as little as $30.
I would say getting a 20mm coil would be the best option.
